This is quite well known. SBx (x = 1, 2 or 3) are insanely powerful programs that let you do basically anything. the 'The Wall' trailer just shows what happens if you get a dedicated team and a fair bit of time and combine them with the sandbox suite.

This is just epic, new knowledge I never even noticed. I might need to study and do some research on the new Sandbox/Cryengine very soon. :)

gotta love character animations and panning camera scenes, amazing possibilities, doubt Unreal Engine could make all that stuff in the trailer

Yea, UE3 is JUST starting to catch up the CE2... a whole 3 years late. They just published a video a few weeks or days ago on gametrailers that showed their AMAZING day-night cycle... and color grading... and sun-shafts....

Sounds more like the GDC 2006 Crysis trailers...

You should check this link out: http://crytek.com/company

Just scroll down a little bit and you can see the drawings of "The Wall" trailer. Pretty powerful stuff.

I hear UDK also has moving watervolumes, proper solid tools, regular updates and Win7 support, which CE2 has had for...oh wait.

Sandbox 2 works fine for me in Windows 7. xD

You're right about the other things though. I hope CE3 and SB3 are much better supported. They most likely will be if Crytek wants CE3 to widely get licensed.

To the other posters: Check out Sandbox 2 already. It's powerful enough to make a trailer like 'The Wall' trailer as well.

It was all in the power of the sandbox ed. 3 or Cryengine 3. Still need to research. :|

Really, the problem with CE2 was the vast amount of computing power it required to actually run properly, which would make any developer that wants to appeal to the masses go for the UE instead. Simply because more people would be able to play their games. I'm confident that Crytek has made big steps towards countering that problem now, however.
