600W is enough for this system. You could perhaps even add another GTX 460 to make SLI with that powersupply.
You've got a alright rig there. Though I would have chosen another case. The HAF X is a superiour case :) Have had it myself for some months know. It rocks!
I would recomend an ASUS motherboard. That is just me personal prefernce in MB, I have only good expirience with ASUS :)

A little recommendation for your gpu, Try using an Xfx or Evga model. Never had any real good experience with Msi , form hardware to laptops.

I dont really agree. I have a MSI GTX275 now with a twin frozr cooling. I never have been more happy with a GPU. Its less hot, its quiet and hardly more expensive then a card with the standard cooling.
The Hawk version of the GTX460 also has the twin frozr cooler, which is one of the best non-custom coolers.

Before this card i had a GTX280 from XFX, which was noisy and broken after 11 months, probably because of heat issues.

Then go with an Evga model, try to not use Xfx if your pc regularly get really hot. But I use to run with a Xfx Gtx 260/216 and it lasted almost two years. Now its in storage, and waiting to be used again :)

Well I am stuck with that board, because tiger direct does not have any am3 boards with sli and newegg only has 3 and that one is the better. I might get a better case if i have the funds, but this is already going to cost me $700+. also the GTX 470 is $60 and i am hoping price will drop a bit once the 6970 comes out.

Do you absolutely need to build it now? 570 in a few days and 560 in January / February.

Nevermind the plethora of other goodies hitting stores in 2011 Q1

Get an Antec 900 case. Far better than the one you have.

600W?
500W is enough.. take one from be Quiet, or Cougar.
What Kind of RAM do you want to buy?
I recommend 4GB G.Skill ECO-DIMM KIT ;) 1666.

For the board I would say a "gigabyte ga-870ud3" is the best choice.

Good luck and have fun with you PC!

Stick with a Gtx 580, if you can. Finally bought one a few weeks ago. Worthy buy :)

I think a GTX470 will cost more than $120?
Try $220 at least.

But i agree, just wait for the GTX570. It will be more expensive but probably a lot faster and less noisy and hot.

Then, just settle for a Gtx 580 then? What's the problem?

He was talking about a graphics card for not too much money, then the GTX580 will be out of reach. A GTX570 will offer more value for your money. If your budget is limited, always stay away from the top-end of a line. Price/performance is better with a somewhat cheaper card (ie GTX570) and it is still way fast enough to play on high detail in every game.

But I agree a GTX580 is a good card. Expensive, but good.

Now, Nvidia has plans for a Gtx 580m in the near future. (2011-2012).

yeah i just say some preview of the 570 and it cost $350 and is better then the 480. will most likely do that so i can get a better board that has usb 3.0 and 6gb/s SATA and etc. i am still checking out cases, and thanks for all the impute it was alot of help.

ps. the reason i am getting the 6 core is, because this pc will also have heavy use with AutoCAD 2011 while i am learning the software for school.
