What about the menu?

Post » Wed Sep 22, 2010 4:40 am

In the closed test, the menu was fantastic. It was 3 dimensional and was moving, the background was awesome and the whole menu was really Crysis-ish. Now I fear that the PC version won't have this or a similiar menu. The same was with Bad Company 2. The Xbox Menu was great, but the PC one was 2D, flat and not really impressive. I please you Crytek to make an awesome Menu, but no flat and boring one. You managed the 3D with the HUD so you surely can make it with the main menu.

Anyone knows the Bionic Commando menu? That one was truly awesome.

If the closed pre-alpha demo had this 3D menu, it will be on the PC without a doubt.

Well, we can't share it, obviously, but it was the BEST MENU EVER. It was 3D and futuristic looking and the music was epic and there was a huge Nanosuit 2 in the background and it had awesome lighting effects and it's the best menu ever.

I like flat boring menus they are easy to navigate in. I would rather have the PC version of Crysis 2 would get its own menu designed for mouse navigation rather than getting a menu designed for use with a controller like how Bad Company 2 has different menus for the 360 and PC versions.

Please tell me more about C2's menu, those that have seen it :D

For me, a game just must have a cool intro and menu, it's what triggers my first impressions of a game.

For Crysis 2, I thought about the following ideas that might make a beautiful menu.

- Some Nanosuit 2 imagery (like the those in the trailers "Nanosuit 2.0 by CryNet Systems" and "
Technical schematics of the Nanosuit 2.0 by CryNet Systems") in the background
- Some scenes showing the catastrophic beauty of New York, with a lonely Nanosuit 2 soldier wandering the streets (almost like in "The Wall" trailer)

With some great music of course :P
