So, after I created a new profile and set everything as I liked, I began playing the campaign; finished several levels, collected tons of nano-points, and unlocked suit improvements. Today, when I started the game, it suddenly froze in the loading phase, and froze Windows as well, so I had to reset. When I started the game again my profile with all that was in it wasn't there anymore - just the default profile as if it were the first time I started the game. I tried to look both inside the MyGames dir and all the Cry-related dirs and my profile is not there anymore. Apparently, it got corrupted and was somehow erased from the system.

Has anyone else had similar problems and found a way to recover a corrupted profile?

Yup, kinda svcks. It already happened twice, and I made sure it's not my system's fault - drivers, patches, ATI profiles, software conflicts or overheating are all taken care of. I also contacted the EA tech support which dismissed me in two seconds saying that there's nothing I can do to recover that. Anyway, I finally recovered that profile and restored it back using the file recovery software Recover My Files - it's effective and easy to use if anyone finds himself facing such problems. However, this is not a fix that will prevent the problem to happen, but at least I can recover the lost profile.
