3D Vision and crysis

Post » Mon Oct 04, 2010 8:50 pm

Hi all,

Have to say it looks good in 3D, so hoping crysis 2 will look even better.. Can't explain how 3D gaming makes games look even better and drags you into the game even more. Takes some getting use to, but hay it's worth the extra money and new monitor thats for shaw.

Anyone who's been interested in getting 3D vision from nvidia, get it, because you won't be disapointed. It's hard to explain how much depth your games have and that you actually feel like your in the game, it's like looking inside your monitor and being able to reach inside and touch whats in front of you, really good, not forgetting things that pop out of the screen.....Have to say the only thing I found for the first few days was getting a bad head, but that seems to have stopped now..

Yeah, I wish Ati updated all 5xxx series drivers for 3D support.

Hd6 series cards have better support too.

However, until we get a true standard 3d format (also meaning it's worthwhile getting) which will be when the screens are natively 3d and cheap enough to buy with a re mortgage it's not worth buying 3d related screens.

Not to say it isn't cool, but i'd rather wait until i don't need the glasses at all, and every screen can play every bit of 3d content (about a year or two).

I wonder how their going to make 3d tv's or monitors without glasses, because don't you think it will play mind tricks to work? or effect your eyes badly. Bad enough with the glasses at times making your vision blurry..

Basically just what's in the glasses is actually in the screen instead. It's much better though, since it gives the appearance of looking into a window. The method used in the screens we'll see will be the parallax barrier method.

3D is just another publicity stunt, even without it. Crysis 2 looks awesome and playable. Anyway back to topic, 3D is capable and works in almost all new Nvidia cards. Ati is stll evolving :D

well, i'd say AMD isn't evolving theirs at all. They, like the rest of the world, know that 3d gaming is pointless until auto stereoscopic screens and at that point they won't need anything more than what they've had since the hd5 series to get the exact same visuals :)

nvidia, as always, have just expended large amounts of money to get something unnecessary (but nice) out first, while AMD quite happily waits until there's actually a point to doing so.

That's a very sad theory, and I can say its in progress for Ati still.

Works for them though, they've got 80% dx11 market share. Plus ATi doesn't exist :D

This might sound ignorant but is that actually suitable to view for extended periods or do you need to take breaks?

We all know sitting too close to the monitor or being in a dark room should be avoided but if anyone is curious about health information relating to 3D use is there a website or NVIDIA notice about it?

Well I do take breaks myself every hour because it did give be a bad head the first couple of days, but now it's fine, but to all the skeptics, I've now played 3 other games from bad company 2, avatar and world of warcraft and have to say I won't be going back to 2d gameplaying. It's not a novelty either, the amount of depth and things that come out of the screen, just pulls you deeper into the gaming experiance. I'd recomend 3dvision to anyone and dare them to say they don't like it once tried, because you'll love it. Seriously the avatar game is just amazing as with the other games, warhead doesn't look as good, but I beleive crysis 2 will be 3d ready, so if bad company 2 has anything to go by, crysis 2 will be jaw dropping.

Indeed 3d is good, but i'll hold on for a year for the standards to come out so every game works flawlessly with every configuration on autostereoscopic screens :D Then i'll be far happier with 3d. If someone gave it me for free i'd love to have it though.

However, at this point in time with such limited support and with far superior tech out within a year it's not worth the money.
