Does anyone know if Lean made in the MP or why they did add it MP?

Because it was a feature in the first Crysis.

Yeah but Crysis 2 more and more seems to be a dumb-down Crysis for consoles so propably no kneeling no leaning no tactics just pif paf and script-kick the car :/

But cheer up there is "Nano suite HUD for idi... sorry console players" which shows you what you can script-kick.

Yeh, no lean, no prone, no vehicles, no 32 slots servers. Whats next? No servers (mw2 allready did it), no running, no jumping? Concoles is very serious evil.

Are you serious? Why do you need lean in the first place? I can understand prone. But lean? Why? I can honestly say that the only time I've ever used lean in a game is in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. Why? Because I was abusing it, to miss the enemy bullets in a firefight. That, along with console controller limitations is why it was removed from so many games, likely Crysis 2 as well.

Lets talk about prone for a second. What's it good for? I use it in Black Ops. Why? To miraculously disappear into the ground in mere milliseconds, in a firefight, to confuse the enemy. Which is, again, abusing it. But why would you need it? Oh yes, to hide as a sniper. Well, I'm against that. Snipers should be as visible as they possibly can, if all they do is camp out of their base, contributing no more than what comes out of your ass to the team.

So, lets take vehicles. Why would you need vehicles? If the game modes and maps are designed properly, you don't need something like an armored vehicle to piss at everybody.

As for player count... That has absolutely nothing to do with console limitations. That all comes down to how the individual game is designed. If it's designed in a way that 12 players is the optimal player count, then that's that.

You all seem to be thinking that, somehow, your opinion is so much more important than what the developers have spent months (maybe years) working on and researching. Do you conduct play-testing to form your opinion about X thing in a game? No, you don't. At least most of you don't. So, you might want to just back off and wait for the game to be released before making completely useless complaints about things you couldn't possibly know anything about.

Now, don't take this as me being a Crytek fanboy or a console player or whatever. No, I don't own a console. I've never had one, in fact. Nor am I a Crytek fanboy. I'm simply someone who can see beyond stupid assumptions.

Thank you very much

Didn't the learn feature cause a glitch, and in terms of gameplay, really, I don't think it's really that helpful.

In SP you get an advanced cover system, which seems more better than lean.

And yes, it seems that alot of people still have lots of steam to let out. Please, do it somewhere else? Thanks.

snip

Just because you don't use lean doesn't mean it shouldn't be in the game. If you don't like it, don't use it, and maybe remap the buttons to something else. I don't see any logical reason to not leave the option for lean in.

As for prone, it has other uses than dropshotting ~
For instance, taking cover behind objects that aren't very tall. Another use could be for 'playing dead', and then take the enemy players by surprise.

That's all I had to sayImage

Similarly, just because you think you would use it often enough for it to matter, doesn't mean it absolutely needs to be in the game.

And being able to take cover that way wouldn't happen often enough for it to be worth it.

I do believe there is lean in SP but not in MP. In some vids it had LT to lean when the player was right up against the wall

I thinking adding the Lean feature in the MP would be nice to add to consoles and for gamers who don't like this feature they don't have to use it. I just hate when developers take out feature or don't add features for lame reasons like "this is a console game so let not add it" or "we are not adding lean feature because "it makes the game unbalance or to slow" and the list goes on.

I guess consoles were the reason why lean wasn't in C1's MP... Oh, wait. C2 has a new cover system that allows even the console versions to have lean. I'm not sure if it'll be MP, but even if it won't be, the decision wouldn't have anything to do with consoles; just like pretty much every design choice made for Crysis 2. Contrary to popular belief, Crysis isn't the largest, most complex game ever made, nor are consoles as weak as they are made out to be. There are games on consoles that are much larger and more complex than Crysis.

@DJ-iceman

just on your rant about stuff, the part about the developers knowing best about how to make the game what WE want, have you seen C&C4?

The whole way through developement, EA said "no, we know you guys will like this :)"
And what did we get? utter crap. They took out all the good old stuff and replaced it with "EXcitINg NeW FeaTuRez!!11" and wrecked it.
i hope they keep plenty of the old stuff from Crysis, because its better to have it and not use it, then want it and not have it.

I am generally utterly lost when I hear people saying "Yes give us less it is so cool to get less. Less is better this is good decision." Please be serious and mature for a moment.

ME? YES PLS GIVE ME MORE CHOICES (PRONE, LEAN, VECHICLES) SO I CAN MASTER THEM AND PLAY CREATIVLY AND GIVE MY OPPONONTS HARD TIME.

If I want to have simple scripted cinematic urban pif paf I will buy FEAR3 it comes the same day the mini-crysis (C2) is out.

I think Crysis was a great game and... :) there was lean and prone and vehicles in it. Simply because this was a model tactic sandbox game. If I understand correctly sandbox is all about giving choices (both choices in freedom of moving, freedom of tools and freedom of environment ). What I loved about Crysis. is that it gave me so many choices that I could play on just few maps for months only to discover new funny and awesome methods to win over other players. What I lacked is a good score tracking and fine cheating control (but that is different topic – kind of getting Crysis more into social media zone)

That said Crysis for me is perfect and best tactical sandbox ever made

BTW Consoles can't bite it. Crytek had to do mini-crysis (C2) without good amount of trees and no vehicles so the consoles can work with it. That is just sad. What is even sadder precise and complicated controls and heavy skill gaming is a problem for couch sitting console casual players so it was simply abandoned too. When I was starting to play games well ? 20 years ago you had to get better to beat the game now the developers are afraid that games are to complicated or to hard so they dumb it down so everybody can beat them that is just the opposite to what game means to me!
Coming back to the consoles, they are weak and already old hardware, everybody who thinks and reads knows that. PS3 or Xbox360 owners who believe otherwise. I understand that this is a common buying psychological behavior when we rationalize the buying choice.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST SMART COVER SYSTEM IS LIKE AUTO-AIMING THIS IS FOR CRYBABIES, PU$$%#$ AND $#%#HEADS WHO CANT PLAY #%$$#
