New Vages Online Yay/Nay?

Post » Thu Jan 06, 2011 6:26 pm

I was playing through my copy of Fallout 3 and i thought to myself "i wonder what this game would be like if it had an online party system of some kind" so i was wondering if i was the only one that has thought about this

I want an online system for Fallout similar to Demon Soul's, where you can't directly play with or against people but they can leave you messages and if you toggle it on or off you can see the vague outline of players near you, and maybe later on be able to join up with people if you can't finish certain quest's by yourself. That could either be really cool or really stupid. :'P

Nay.

Not least because the engine as it is cannot support stable multiplayer of any kind without extensive recoding. Obsidain hasn't been working on it anywhere near as long as would be needed for the recoding.

New Vegas will (thankfully) be single player.

In a future Fallout perhaps. I'd like to see it actually... though fights would have to be harder, coz right now you do fine without even one NPC companion.

Isn't Bethesda in a lawsuit with Interplay over MMO rights or something?

Nay. I don't want the same as with Bioshock 2 ; Slapped on multiplayer, and a singleplayer campaign that suffers from it.
Besides, Obsidian doesn't even have that much time to work on the game.

Nay. I don't oppose if it is made as a completely separate product, by people who don't have anything to do with the SP game and if it doesn't touch the SP experience in any way.

We have an http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=976152 for discussing Fallout and multiplayer, let's continue this in there.

Also, anyone who does stop by should read the rules in the first post before jumping in to the discussion.
