Tech question

Post » Tue Jan 11, 2011 10:11 pm

Alright so having logged near 600 hours in my 360 version of F3 but then trying a mates PC version, I quickly realized my error because of obvoius reasons like modding.

My actual question is, do you think I could play F:NV on respectable settings? I went to one of those hardware test sites and it told me my ATI mobility Radeon HD 5145 (1GB DDR3 VRAM) can play about 61% of "current" games. Since I'm not very familiar with playing new-ish games on my laptop, and not very tech savvy, I was hoping some kind soul on here might share his/her expierience with this :)

Full specs:

Intel i3 370M 2.6 GhZ
4 gb RAM

i dont think they have released system requirments yet, but FNV is using a older engine so you should be good.

I"m not too familiar with current ATI cards, but that sounds like it would do. Here's a thought... Today only, Steam has FO3 GOTY on sale for $25. That's a pretty good price to get FO3 on PC, and you can find out how well it runs. If you can run FO3, you should be fine for NV.

If you can play Fallout 3 than I am pretty confident that you'll be able to play Vegas.

Lefty beat me to it.

New Vegas will have pretty much the same system requirement specs as Fallout 3. Try going to http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri, putting in "Fallout 3". Hit the "Can you run it?" button and see how well your PC is for Fallout 3, and it should be basically the same for New Vegas. If you pass in everything, you're good to go. If you get past the recommended line, you should be able to run it with high resolution.
