Frame rate drops in certain areas.

Post » Tue Jan 11, 2011 8:42 am

Im playing on a 3.4GHz dual core with an ATI Radeon HD 5750 and 4GB of RAM. After unlocking FNV the game detected my hardware and set everything to ultra high/max as expected. Ive had no crashes or bugs (just a few bad pathfinding problems) but I do get severe drops in frame rate in a few area and especially when a lot of NPCs are involved in combat.

For instance the early quest to resolve the conflict between Goodsprings and the Powder Gangers. As soon as the 6 man gang come into the town my FPS plummets as they begin fighting each other.

There is so many posts stating on how to fix it that it should be pretty simple to find.
I try to help as much as I can. :shakehead:

Indeed, but it was no skin off my nose to link to it.

No need for a head shake, it wasn't personal. Just a remark you could have been a bit more helpful than you already were.

That was not a head shake. That was an "I'm blue and I'm gonna puke everywhere in the next few moments!" face.
Have I been entered into a who's more helpful contest? I lose.

Jeez, forget I said it and move on. It's not the big deal you seem to think it is. It was just a suggestion you could have been a bit more helpful than you were. (Meaning saying there was a fix available was helpful.) It took me 10 seconds to find, and add the link.

There was no intent to annoy you so!!

Well OP. Welcome to teh club.
I get increadibly low FPS - practically a completely frame hallt - whenever a big fight occurs.
That fight you mention is where my game is currently stopped at, since i can't progress through it, and i damn sure want to. Had a similar incident allthough to a lesser degree, killing a group of Geckos earlier on.

There's so many temporary fixes on the forum and i hope you find one that fixes your problem. Personally i've tried them all and nothing's changed as of yet.

Anxiously awaiting a patch.

I hope you understand that I really do not care and carry these conversations on for no reason. I just like to make conversation.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
