I have recently heard about how you can play poker in the various casinos spread through New Vegas so are you guys gonna play to hope to win or risk losing your money or keep out of it to avoid money loss.

You heard wrong. It might have been confirmed there isn't I'm not sure. But as far as we know, the only casino games are Roulette, Blackjack, and Slot Machines. There is Caravan, some sort of card game, it may very well be akin to Poker, but to my knowledge, there is no poker in the game. Sorry.
