Thieves Merchant Immersion

I am making a mod that will allow the player to steal their money back from a merchant after purchasing items from them. It seems like a realistic idea, since you would be able to do this in real life as well, although you would have to be a hokerr. Haha. I was shocked to discover that no such mod can be found as of yet, at least as far as I can tell. So I decided to take on the task for myself and upload it when I finish. I am only missing one crucial element and I can then complete the mod. I need a command that can identify which character I am currently bartering with. Does one exist for this function? I've looked and hunted around the OBSE commands too, but so far I've come up short. Maybe one of you knows something that I don't. Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks.

GetActiveMenuRef gives you what you're looking for.

It returns the reference to the item/creature/npc you activated to get into your current menu.
