Where do we go from here? - Crysis 3/Expansion Expectations

Post » Sat Sep 11, 2010 2:56 pm

After playing through the SP, I will say that it is one of the best campaign experiences I have ever had, and will enjoy it for years to come. The storytelling is some parts is flawed, but overall it is a very enthralling experience.

We all know that Prophet made a comeback in this game as one of the primary characters. Aside from the illusion surrounding Prophet, what else exactly was answered from the first game? Not much, I will say. Most people will know as of now know that Nomad and Psycho did not make it into the sequel. From a personal standpoint, I will say that this is somewhat disappointing. I formed a bond with these characters that can't simply be pushed aside by Crytek and their 'improvement'.

For those that don't know, a comic connecting the events between Crysis and Crysis 2 is scheduled to be released in June, with new issues every month after for 6 months. What should we hope to see in this? Should Nomad and Psycho be removed from the series with all haste? I say no. You could argue that these characters weren't the best ones ever. BUT there is ALWAYS an opportunity to improve upon a characters foundation. Obviously, Crytek failed to do this in this sequel, but there is always Crysis 3 or a possible expansion.

I want to say that this story STILL has potential to live up to it's original audience. What do you think? Should Nomad and Psycho make a comeback in Crysis 3/Expansion? Should they die due to the fact their personalities "svcked"? Or should we never hear from them again? What about Dr. Rosenthal? Thoughts?

My view: DON'T KILL ANYONE. MAKE THEM LIVE. SOMEHOW. SOMEWAY. ANYWAY POSSIBLE. Thanks.

In my mind, this game has nothing to do with Crysis. It should be called something like Supersuit Soldiers 1: Death to Integrity. I REALLY don't want to see them butcher Crysis 1 any further by trying to connect it to this piece of ****.

I am... err... conflicted on bringing back Nomad/Psycho back.

First, yes, they were likable badass characters, and seeing what happened to them would be a relief. But on the other hand, what would they add to the story? They are soldiers told to do their jobs, they never even knew of what the hell they were wearing. Just grunts, nothing more. Unless they somehow fit them in with the true plot of Crysis, nah. Perhaps they learn about the truth to the Nanosuit program?

Comments?

Nomad and psycho shouldn't be brought back because it just confuses the whole story. These characters of crysis 1 are just to allow players to experience the nanosuit and its abilities. The whole history of the nano-suit and prophet was not very explicit in Crysis 2 and should be investigated more in Crysis 3 or crysis 2 expansion pack.

I think it would be nice to have a DLC that bridges the gap, it would be a nice excuse to revist the jungle and in the new engine
