RETRIEVER..............needs a nerf

Post » Mon Sep 20, 2010 10:34 am

like the title says, not only does it make a built in concept of the game obsolete you turn it into CoD which is horrible, camp till you get max killstreak.

Camping until you get a gunship or max nanosuit feels like I'm in MW2 camping for a harrier to get a nuke. Something needs to be done about this perk or just remove it.

It doesn't have a delay on it? You get the tags instantly on kill? I didn't unlock that power for the very reasons you mentioned.

Meh, so what? They're losing out on other good modules to have it. Use your advantages and stop crying.

People who cry nerf at everything they don't like only end up ruining the game for everyone else.

ITT: Retriever=everything

On a more serious note. The nerf of the 1887s was one of smartest complaints that something got nerfed in history....

Going off CoD games, those who call nerf at "Everything" are only ruining it for those who must resort to "cheaper" tatics. (noob tube for every kill, prenerf 1887s, any explosive+oma, etc) to get kills.

I wonder if the same could be applied here...........

Nope, they're ruining it for people who are both able and enjoy adapting and overcoming challenges, and those who like 'unorthodox' tactics, for the sake of those who only want the game to be playable their way.

Yes, things like quickscoping and melee running are annoying, but who the **** are we to say they can't play that way if the devs have deliberately put that stuff in? If you don't like the game, don't buy the game.. but don't bich about it and use the goddamn awful word 'cheap' in regards to tactics which don't match your own. Funnily enough this isn't RL.

Personally, I don't rely on killstreaks, and I don't use explosives/nanovision much, but that's my playstyle. I've never had an issue competing with people who do use those things.

In regards to the original point: If you want something nerfed, nerf the killstreaks NOT the perk.

You can't really tell if you like the game or not with out buying it in the first place, and if you end up not liking the game you can't even refund the game or at least I cant even refund the game. If only you could rent in PC version games. hmm, that should be a new business

If they would allow renting games or refunds than well... EA would bankrupt. So I wouldn't have any hopes in this matter.
So far they even do anything possible to stop re-selling the games on PC because it broken their income (while in fact what hit EA income was the poor products quality, not people reselling games)

The killstreaks in this game are kind of stupid so does it really matter?

Besides, if they have retriever, they can't have super noob no recoil mode.

i use this perk but not to camp its just handy since you can get a tripple kill or quadrouple nd not have to run about collecting all the tags =) also i find it realy anoying if you just get 3 kills about to get the last tag and get killed so you dont get radar -_- its just one less thing to think about =) also the only real way the perk could be anoying is if you get snipers using it but you can just nade their ass and give them cheap tactics back ;D

I'm probably going to use this perk just so I can avoid situations where I kill someone who was in the wide open then only to get killed trying to get his tag. I almost never camp unless I'm like 1 tag away from the third bonus. Also, I very rarely see campers. They don't work like they do in CoD because the Nanosuit renders them useless no matter the module combination.

Ehhhhh... The killstreaks aren't nearly as powerful as they are in COD. The gunship is pretty good. I don't even worry about dog tags unless they are right next to me. This game isn't ran by killstreaks like COD is, it's about using your abilities and winning gunfights.

As far as sniping goes, the retriever is the most useful module available to you in that tier. That's basically all it's good for, really. There is basically no other use for it. And that's likely the only reason people will use it.

In my opinion, let's worry about hassling Crytek on things like bugs breaking the singleplayer and multiplayer before we talk of buffs/nerfs etc

EDIT: Not saying that retriever needs a nerf though. I personally don't know if it really does because I haven't played much of the multiplayer...yet.
