If all five are used up, you get to call EA and beg for more activations.

Same has happened to me, but says 4/5. Sent a message through help and support last week without a reply. As far as that goes the game runs great, would just like to see if it plays on my other two systems to see if they are capable of playing Crysis 2. Another question I have is what if your computer crashes and you run out of activations? Are you forced to pay another $60? Or do you have to find another way of obtaining the game?

How do you check how many you have used?

I did some overclocking this past week and when i changed my cpu multiplier i got a message telling me to authenticate again, then again when i changed the ram divider (loosing activations from overclocking! who came up with that great idea), would like to know if they were actully used or not.

LOL Wolfyyy you answered my question while i was typing it :D.

Turns out it must have been an activation bug on the overclocking as that app states i still have 4 out of 5 left.

Once de-authorized, a machine "slot" will be freed up and can be re-used on another machine

thats great but how the hell do i de authorize two of them when i dont even know where they have gone :S

Quite honestly, this kind of DRM is the kind of **** that only hurts the paying customers while giving to those who crack it a chuckle and 20 extra seconds of work.

Just crack it if you ever use up all your activations, it was available even before the launch and when people had problems because they had the game before the release hour and couldn't play, they did it so they didn't have to wait. To hell with this **** of a DRM.

lol I just lost my free activation...I de-authorized to test, then authorized again, and now it says 4 out of 5 left.

I hit deauthorize again and authorize and it still says just 4 out of 5.

Once de-authorized, a machine "slot" will be freed up and can be re-used on another machine

thats great but how the hell do i de authorize two of them when i dont even know where they have gone :S
Next time, before you update your GPU drivers or any driver for that matter, make sure to deactivate it first.

Right now everyone who owns the game and has it installed should have 4/5 at the most. i dont know why i had 5/5 lol.

Crysis Warhead was the same way, but later on, they released a de-authorization tool. If Crysis 2 sells well enough on PC, they'll probably release something like that.
