my dad was going to get me this dell xps studio 7100 http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=dxdodr3&c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&model_id=studio-xps-7100

i mean its pretty good but it only has a 460 watt psu (i called dell and found out) and the graphics card is good but not nearly as good as the pc i got from newegg and the processors are about the same actually there egzactly the same if i remember correctly

heres the pc i talked my dad into gettin from newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229221

the specs of that baby r good the only downside of this pc is it dont include a monitor which btw if you guys could tell me what resolution monitor and how much inches based on that newegg pc's specs thatd be awesome and it only has 4 gb of ram but that should be good right?

I generally go with anything that's not a Dell.

I'd Say either a 24" 1920x1080 (not one of those 23.6" fake HD monitors) or a 22" monitor with a resolution of 1680x1050, That graphics card is usless if you have resolutions lower than that of a 22" screen.

EDIT: if possible look for a similar PC but with an intel i5/i7 variant.

could use a second gpu (not for crysis 2 tho) and a bit more ram but also depends on what your going to do with the computer. if your main goal is to run crysis 2 full-out it needs another gpu (ati 6870) for crossfire. once crytek fixes the sli/crossfire bug....i STRESS if. the game will run like crazy. right now everyone is just waiting for the "big patch"..........good luck nice selection for the money.

For crysis 2 i actually dont see why he would need a second GPU (even after a crossfire/sli patch comes out), im running an HD5850 and it runs fine at max serttings, i got lag once for a split second and that was during a cut scene, he should be fine with a 6870.

its 50 dollars more with same GPU but the Processor is substantially more powerful than the phenom II's. If you could have done a little more investigating you could have figured out that the second generation Intel i5 and i7 are leaving AMD seriously in the dust, even the first generation are a bit stronger and this is coming from someone who just passed a Phenom II 965 that I had at 3.8ghz to my sons computer.
