quick questions about pc multiplayer before i purchase

Post » Sun Sep 26, 2010 6:49 pm

I currently have th game on xbox and was looking into getting it for pc first off I would like to know when you load a server does it come up with the servers team speak or ventrillo information? And what are some negatives about the pc version and some positives i know there has been some problems with the game and all that other stuff but what do you like and dislike about ONLINE play. One more thing from your perspective how often is voice chat used in this game when it comes to useing team speak or ventrillo when you play. Thanks

tl;dr = wait until they fix this game for PC and enjoy the console version

ok, i may get some heat for this, but don't get this for pc, at least not yet.

a good bit of the community feels that this game was geared more towards having a successful release on the consoles, and since you already have it on a console continue to enjoy it there. keep an eye on the forums as well as the steam forums and once you see less complaints, and requests about something to get fixed, and more posts on hey such-and-such were fixed, thank you crytek, then start thinking about getting this game for pc. as it stands right now multiplayer is having severe problems ranging from unlocks/xp being reset, to random disconnects, to cheaters/aimbotters/hackers (go check youtube), people being unable to even log in to multiplayer (a problem i have been experiencing since launch) and more.

because i have been having a problem with this game since launch (pre-ordered through steam) i have been constantly watching this forum as well as steam's and have seen more negative things about this game than positive, most of it about multiplayer (which is where you seem to be focused). as for singleplayer, the complaints are usually around AI which i imagine is probably the same for console, and graphics because they ARE the same as console, which means that they are restricted by hardware from 2005 and so when compared to crysis and warhead which were PC titles primarily the graphics look... well... worse than its predecessors which focused on being a benchmark of PC gaming requiring you to have the best of the best computers to run it on MAXIMUM SETTINGS and still have a good fps.

anyways, not a rant, could be, probably should be, but not, just a warning -- wait until it gets fixed before getting the PC version, this way if it doesn't get fixed you won't be pissed off like the rest of us.

The multiplayer for the PC is broken beyond belief, I have yet to find a server where someone wasn't cheating. Yes, it's that **** broken. Stick to your console, developer of this game obviously didn't give a flying **** about the PC version and it really show.

Alright bro, I'll help.

I keep my headset plugged in, if I hear someone talk, I talk back. Happens....every few games. I'm giving it a while: I think that more people will talk soon. It's only week 2. As for the team speak/trillo server info...no. It doesn't come up.

GAMEPLAY - alright. Its amazing in my opinion. One of the best multiplayer games EVER. You said you own the 360 version, so I'll spare the game details that I like, but overall I really like it.

There is a MAJOR (I mean f*cking MAJOR) downfall to it. Almost to the point that I want to take the game back. HACKERS. They are EVERYWHERE. And currently, Crytek is doing the equivalent of taking a elephant-sized dump to try and fix it.

Overall, I would say stay away from the PC Multi. At least for now. Troll the forums and wait for news on a Hacker/Modder banning, or the installation of anti-cheat software that's actually worth a damn.

You basically just got the same answer 3 times...all at the exact same time. I know all of those are long, but the overall message is : WAIT FOR ANTI-CHEAT SOFTWARE. amirite?
