If you look at the aliens in Crysis 1 and 2, they are quite different in the technology/weapons they use. I was wondering why this is and have a few theories:

1. The aliens have different races/ethnicities much like we have now. Therefor they also have different technology. The aliens in Cry 1 were very much flyer based, although they had one huge walker. This makes you wonder if the aliens are even entirely united with one another, or if certain races may be enemies of other races. Or maybe one alien race just doesn't like the other alien races bad rap music.

2. Perhaps the bases are just like different parts of the military. Cry 1 was an air force base, and Cry 2 is a mix of air and ground forces.

Either way, I wonder why aquatic species want to conquer the land part of the earth so much. You'd think they would want the ocean.
