where do all the kids come from?

I think that the kids came for anywere is the wastes, or else the LL would have been a ghostcave by now

the kids in 2077 where on a school trip
they where going to the little lamplight caverns
the boms where dropped when they where in the caverns
after 3 days one of the parents where going for help but did not come back
7 days later the last parent went for help but didn't come back
the children where mad on the grown ups and hated them
in little lamplight you can find holotapes on which the story is told

I think parents in the wasteland sometimes just dump their kids there for safety.

It is a possibility, it's also a probability that the Big town residents have children and they are sent there, kind of like the ritual of sending the grown ups out of LL.

They're all the Wasteland runaways and orphans.

Face it LL is one of the many examples of "OMG Wouldnt it be SOOO COOLZORS!!!11!! to have THIS in the game..." things that Bethesda put in the game for no reason other than it be "cool" and with very little logical thought in it.

Theres no real reason for its continued existance. And the only possible explanation for it would the one about Big Town residents sending their young back there for "safety" reasons. And even then that excuse is a little... thin.

Unless of course LL only came into being in the last generation or so... But i dont see how thats possible either.

I think one of the posters got it right when a developer watched one too many sci fi movies (Logan's run) and said, "hey this would be great for the game", but seriously they are kids from the inbred country folk in Point lookout. Ever wonder why there is only one kid at Point lookout ?? That's why, they pay Tobar to haul their annoying carcasses to the wastes.
