We want Crysis 3!

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 8:10 am

Crytek, today my friend was playing C2 SP and I was chatting to him explainig the plot. When he beat it, we both realized the game has one of the best plots out there.

We WANT to see what's next.

We WANT to see what happened with Raptor team.

We WANT to know the rest of the plot.

Things that make this story great:

1. Corporate Battle
2. The Nanosuit "side-effects"
3. Prophet
4. The Ceph...

This story needs to be finished!

Wow... how many trolls are in this forum...

Crysis 2 is an amazing game with deeper background a narrative than the first one. If they improve the plot and the AI, Crysis can reach a place in the heaven of games. Maybe in 2 years we′ll see Crysis 3 for all the platforms.

I agree with the OP's list of the 4 things which make Crysis 2's story great.

1. Corporate Battle
2. The Nanosuit "side-effects"
3. Prophet
4. The Ceph...

It's just different from other games. No Russians. No God-Bless-America-kick-down-the-door-slow-motion-shooting-breaches. No protecting us from terribly infected and dying civilians. It's a fresh story for an FPS, and I really like Sci-Fi.

Yes, that's the point I like. I hate these... ultra pro-american storylines (OP: Red River -________-) and really appreciate something new. Crysis 1 was awesome, but still was a bit "We are Americans! Hrhr!". Crysis 2 is really about america beeing in their own, fighting the Ceph.

But still, Crysis 2 isn't a typical Alien storyline. The aliens didn't came from space, they habited under the earth.

BTW: The Ceph are Greenpeace members. ;)

So instead of a cowadooty storyline, we get a Halo storyline. Perfect.

Lets compare stories. Crysis 1's story is predictable and it's pretty much similar to other sci-fi plots. Hero discover aliens. Hero kills aliens. Hero save the world.

In Crysis 2 we have a deeper background, better characters. Hargreave is a good example. He wants to kill the CEPH, but uses 'dark' methods to accomplish that. In crysis 2 we have humans suffering from a deadly disease. That part someone calls his contaminated wife and a marine don't let him, is exciting. In other part someone tries to save a woman from a falling building and the marines can't do that also is emotive.

We have nanosuit side effects (the post-human warrior quote from hargreave is quite epic). Prophet somehow turns into the suit and says to alcatraz "we".

The ending is stunning, pretty much epic. "They call me Prophet" shocked me.

It opens a lot of possibilities to Crysis 3. We may even play with Nomad and Psycho, maybe 3 different campaigns (Alcatraz/prophet, Nomad and Psycho)

I AM a PC player, loved Crysis and Warhead. 50% complaints in this forum are completely nonsense, from some trolls that wanted the best game of the world. Also, 50% is EAs fault (they rushed the launching).

I see a lot of potential in Crysis 3. Technically talking, it will be next-gen, and Crytek WILL learn with the errors. We have a great storyline, great artists and programmers.

Keep it on, Crytek!

Fix 2 I agree, but what is wrong with the engine?

Crysis 2 just came out the door. Go back to CoD if you want annual releases of the same game with a different name.

If it was free there wouldn't be no C3, but it will bring Crytek money so you can expect C4

There are lots of community suggestions for Crysis 3. Lots of them revolve around having fewer bugs, better multiplayer, being PC-optimized, etc. but in addition to all that, I would like to see what happens next in terms of the storyline. We'll find out what happened to Nomad and Psycho this summer via a comic.

I actually really enjoyed Crysis 2, and would definitely buy another installment.

However, after replaying Crysis 1 I have to say that I'd probably agree now that the PC focus needs to return. Crysis 2 is great, but it's just missing something.
