Lets compare stories. Crysis 1's story is predictable and it's pretty much similar to other sci-fi plots. Hero discover aliens. Hero kills aliens. Hero save the world.
In Crysis 2 we have a deeper background, better characters. Hargreave is a good example. He wants to kill the CEPH, but uses 'dark' methods to accomplish that. In crysis 2 we have humans suffering from a deadly disease. That part someone calls his contaminated wife and a marine don't let him, is exciting. In other part someone tries to save a woman from a falling building and the marines can't do that also is emotive.
We have nanosuit side effects (the post-human warrior quote from hargreave is quite epic). Prophet somehow turns into the suit and says to alcatraz "we".
The ending is stunning, pretty much epic. "They call me Prophet" shocked me.
It opens a lot of possibilities to Crysis 3. We may even play with Nomad and Psycho, maybe 3 different campaigns (Alcatraz/prophet, Nomad and Psycho)
I AM a PC player, loved Crysis and Warhead. 50% complaints in this forum are completely nonsense, from some trolls that wanted the best game of the world. Also, 50% is EAs fault (they rushed the launching).
I see a lot of potential in Crysis 3. Technically talking, it will be next-gen, and Crytek WILL learn with the errors. We have a great storyline, great artists and programmers.
Keep it on, Crytek!
