The reason why they didnt release mod tools/editor is because they want to milk as much DLC as possible before letting the community make their own maps/modes. What an underhanded move by crytek.
Better believe im not buying anything.
Theres no way they are coming out with a major patch with all this stuff in it, they can barely get patches out the door to fix basic issues. Do you really think they are working on some major update? Yeah right.
And how would you know that? Do you have any facts or proof to back up that statement of yours?
1. No one really knows whats going on at Crytek at the moment.
2. Don't blame Crytek for the trouble, it's likely more along the lines of being Electronic Arts fault for possibly pressuring them to release on their time table.
3. Even if they released the mod tools\editor it would not even change anything or have an effect to multiplayer since any player created content most likely wouldn't be accessible or usable online.
4. As I said in "3." mod tools wouldn't really conflict with DLC profits they may attempt to earn since it will be mutliplayer related anyways.
5. You're just being really overly cynical.
6. Everyone is frustrated with no DX11, hackers, and no modding tools, but besides those key points, maybe lowered textures too, the game over all is really quite good. The only thing that hurt the game most of all was the expansion of the series to consoles. It was a stupid move when consoles are terrible pieces of equipment for people with low really low standards. A PC only version would have had so much more potential.
7. Personally, I blame consoles, how can developers continue to create every games for a consoles too. I want PC exclusives. For people who get into that field because they love video games, it's ironic they make every game have to be on a console, at least DICE is doing it right with Battlefield 3. PC being lead platform for BF3, I'll go on a killing spree if they screw that game up though.
