[RELz] Fallout Script Extender (FOSE) v1

Post » Mon Aug 17, 2009 1:47 am

Since it may not be obvious from the thread listing, I posted this thread:

http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=983858

Which is specifically about FOSE and some mods... I was hoping I could redirect some of you "FOSE Geniuses" in that direction, to offer me advice.

for example, the vats bug is finally fixed :D)

Is that verified? 'Cause that'd be great. :)

Numerous people have verified it. There are no patch notes for it yet, though.

As some of you way know, if you log into GFWL in Fallout 3, you're prompted for the new 1.5.0.22 patch. Will compatibility be added for it soon? (it actually does more than set up the achievements... for example, the vats bug is finally fixed :D)

Yes, unless something unexpected comes up we should have a new beta out before the end of the month.

Also, they've added a new command: RemapWaterType, which takes two TESWaterForms as arguments. Haven't checked what it actually does in-game.

edit: If anyone is getting CRC errors with a number other than AA4933DF, please let me know.

A WAG: they use it to change the water in the wasteland worldspace to look cleaner after the MQ is completed.

Oh, 1.5.0.22 is official tomorrow, so hopefully that (and the notes) will speed things up... I'm really hoping for an update, at the least, to add compatibility, before Broken Steel hits the net.

Me too, lol. I miss my Enclave commander, and DUI alpha 10 requires FOSE as well. But whatever you guys must do, im sure the rest of us can wait.

Try http://fose.silverlock.org/beta/fose_v1_1_beta6.7z, let me know if it works. I've smoketested it, but that doesn't really count as a proper test.

Hopefully Bethesda won't pull some crazy stuff again leading to multiple patches with the same version that can't be updated to a common version...

Indeed, shmexy.

Edit: Quick initial test. All the mods I use that need FOSE seem to be working properly. XD

Are we supposed to add the "src" folder to our Fallout 3 directory also?????

The installation in the Readme doesn't say what to do with this folder....??

Thanks

You don't need that folder to run FOSE, it's only there so that you can see how they wrote it if you want to, but if you're not interested in this then you can just delete the folder.

Please use the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?showtopic=984389 now, instead of this one.
