Please bring back Levitation.

Post » Tue Aug 18, 2009 10:37 am

I loved having the ability to levitate in Morrowind. I find it very strange that this spell suddenly vanished from the world in Oblivion, as well as the jump spell.

I am well aware of the reasons expressed for their removal, but I'm hoping the team can now get around the technical issues that kept these very fun spells away from the user.

I only ever used levitate I think once and didn't even know there was a jump spell apart from tarhiel's so I'm not really concerned but if they're having coding troubles why not use the script from Midas magic for that ice walk spell and texture the ice so it's transparent?

I believe one of the biggest problems was that in Oblivion, you couldn't just fly in from the world map and go into the towns or vice-versa. They had to be loaded up before entering or exiting, whereas in Morrowind they were just a part of the whole environment.

Whether or not Levitation or Jump could come back is heavily tied to this mechanic.

Yes, that reminds me: remove walls (for MOST towns and villages at least. It makes sense with Skyrim, too).

Definitely bring back levitation. If you want to preach freedom and openness, make it no holds barred. If it detracts from the game, that is for me to decide and to use it.

Please bring back Levitation! I will worship you guys!

Make most of the towns part of the environment, except the largest of cities. For the large cities just add invisible walls so you can't get out.

I don't care if it breaks immersion, we need to compromise on some things!

Another request to give us levitation back. I loved being able to get up high and see the landscape.

Ahhh...levitation, how I adored that spell! Like many others I was incredibly disappointed that it wasn't included in Oblivion; hopefully we'll get to see it this time around.

Damn, just talking about it makes me want to reinstall Morrowind and go soar high, high soooo high :D

A levitation discussion is already well underway http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1148716-levitation/. Let's use that one.
