Possible New XBOX Console & Possible Crytek Payoff’s

Post » Fri Jul 30, 2010 11:59 am

I got the link to a possible new Xbox from the Brink Forum, a post by Grampa Murked U, so credit to him.

So while I was reading the possible new Xbox post I noticed the Crytek link at the top of the editorial, which talks about the possible Crytek Budapest payoffs and the move of their current project to Crytek’s Frankfurt base.

Possibly confirms what I've been thinking all along :

We are getting zero communication on these issues because Crytek aren't even working on them anymore.

Yea it does look that way, with only a month till E3 they may well be tied up with other things, but I think the zero communication is a company policy.

I say that because I find it hard to believe that we have waited 4 years for C2 to arrive, only to have the Community Manager blank us. It’s not just the questions that we put directly to Crytek, it’s the fact that they don’t ever comment on anything, help out with or answer any of the little questions that people have asked.

Crytek UK are doing the majority of updates with the patches, as they're the studio that created the MP portion. This has little to do with Frankfurt and nothing to do with Budapest.

We're still investigating (includes fixing) many of the issues that remain with the game and as soon as we have information about these fixes it will be posted up.

Cheers.

So I guess that means there is no news on progress with the grain glitch??

Thanks for stating the obvious. I was asking for news on progress while Cry-Adam was online. I know they are working on it.

I believe in crytek. The multiplayer is improving slowly and is becomng a solid shooter. Yes it still has problems but it is reassuring they are workng to fix them. I still believe, pro and classic mode should have been available at a lower level.

I had considered buying brink but reviews have been quite poor. I even got gears 3 beta before it was public, played some, and came back to crysis. Its so addictive.

See this is the problem, I don't believe that they are working on improving things. I believe they have packed their bags with this 'project'

Well there you go. They're still investigating/fixing the problems at hand. So can we all just go back to enjoying a dope game now?

Yes their communication policy leaves a bit to be desired. Not gonna argue with that. But get over it. At the end of the day it's JUST A VIDEO GAME. And, problems and all, it's a game that we're all still playing.

I'm not going to get all fanboy on it, it isn't perfect yet. But geez, day after day of reading the whiny posts on this forum gets old.

SPOILER: cry-Adam probably isn't going to go into specifics on any upcoming patches until they're out.

Do you realise how happy I am to hear that. All I & many others wanted was clarification from the community manager that things will be fixed eventually & that I would support this "Top Game" because with its issues ironed out it would be amazing, especially running in a team.

Im not happy it was left this long though but i'll get over it. I'm glad to hear issues ARE STILL being looked at. You have answered my initial concerns & questions, a day to late mind you. The game had to be returned in 10 days or I couldn't get a full refund.

A community update & DLC announced on the same day, cant be bad. Hope to hear more from you & hope Crytek stay true to their word when fixing the game. I would not buy DLC until more updates are announced, but I am considering buying it again now i've heard this.

We may be fairly quiet on the forums but that doesn't mean we're not listening :)

Every day we're in discussions with the appropriate teams about issues and feedback. We'd like to be able to post up to the minute updates on what each and every person is working on here but that's just not possible. Instead we wait to announce large amounts of information all in one hit after all the information has been collated. This usually comes in the form of patch notes or updates to the stickies.

Cheers!

You meant to say you only release patch notes AFTER the release of the patch. UNLIKE EVERY OTHER MAJOR DEVELOPER who keeps us up to date with what is being worked on and what we can expect. All we know now is that the grain bug will not be fixed for AT LEAST another week. Ridiculous.

Is that so????

You still haven't answered 2 very important questions that scores of people are asking

(1) Is the shambolic Network Coding (ie Lag) going to be addressed??

(2) Did the last 'patch' totally erase the 'weapons hotfix' ??

I'm still waiting a reply on 2 very simple questions.

I have never had much problems with the game. Besides the fact I svck and can't stand the cloak part of it. Other than that, this game is 100% better than black ops. After a few days of playing I like this game more now.

Well @ Cry-Adam, many thanks for the information, I am sure I speak for the majority by saying this puts a lot of fears to rest, so many thanks indeed, it’s greatly appreciated. ;)

@ Marinegrunt26, no worries m8, I know how it is, lol.

I’ll try to keep this short, since I tend to get carried away sometimes.

I often feel like a spoilt brat, sometimes it’s easy to site outside of the box or problem looking in and passing judgmental comments as to how I would have done it differently, or what on earth were you thinking when you built that into the game.

At the end of the day how many of us actually know what’s involved or how much work and time goes into designing and producing a game.

Perhaps if Crytek get some spare time on their hands, in a few months or so they could do a proper blog on what was involved in creating Crysis 2. From the concept of the game to the end product, I know I would love to learn more that’s for sure.

With regards to the 360, over the last few months I have been comparing the 360 to the PC, both graphics and playability, I am not going to go into detail here, because it would take pages upon pages.
But I really do feel that the software that drives games could really do with a better console; I am also really amazed at how good the graphics are on such an old peace of hardware, which is a credit to the software engineers.

So this weekend I am going to drop by the Xbox forums and ask not only the big question but also let them know that a newer better spec Xbox would be more than welcomed.

Everything in life starts with an idea and then a word, which in time….
Well we all have our opinions, so enough said. ;)

No one is asking for up to the minute updates on what each & every person is doing, you are twisting the words of the community. We would like something along the lines of a short list of the problems the Crytek as a company is focusing their attention on, and if there is any plan at all to fix the lag, host migration or grain issues. You have ignored the real questions, and could have answered them in the time it took you to post this piece of avoidance spin doctor bull. Something specific. And also, a lot of the "patch notes" are erroneous, and the claims you guys are making are false. How about adressing that?

I know you are going to ignore this because it's way too direct & straight forward. And if you are listening, you should know I for one think you are doing a poor job at being the only person addressing the forums. Maybe pass that feedback on to your roundtable daily discussions with the apprpriate teams :) <--- I get a smug lookin smiley in place of real punctuation that insinuates omnipotency as well. BOOYA
