POSITIVE reaction to recent hotfixes

Post » Fri Jul 30, 2010 12:12 am

I can happily report that I've noticed the benefit of the latest "fine-tuning" update - most matches are well connected and lag is extremely minimal. Hit-detection seems spot-on. In the majority of games everyone has three strong green bars (I actually prefer this to being host myself).

However:

Host Migration is still absolutely USELESS. It works 1 in 10 attempts. I'm SICK of host player's spitefully quitting last minute so they don't get the loss - robbing SIX winning players of a win. Really frustrating and it has no place being in modern multiplayer.

The lobby system is still borked - sometimes it just hangs there, making players wait (or quit) whilst it endlessly 'retrieves session'. Other times a match will just be about to start (with an excellently connected group of players from the previous match) when suddenly you get thrown out and into another EMPTY lobby - made even more aggravating by the fact that we then have to choose from the same two damn maps again. Grrr. Why can't the map selection be completely random? I actually miss Skyline - I never see it anymore. And why did I lose connection from those other players in the first place? I presume the hotfixes are in theory able to 'fix' these major problems - which begs the question: why do they still persist? Some clarification on this would be appreciated.

Finding a match on the Retaliation DLC is a lottery. Longer wait-times aside; connections in eventual matches are all over the place. Please address all issues within as priority since this is after all premium content.

I don't want to end on a downer so I'll just repeat that I absolutely love this game and I'm happy to support it and keep playing - so long as the issues above improve. God knows we couldn't be any more patient! Anyway, I've actually gone to the effort of 'selling' this game's multiplayer on other message boards I frequent (Eurogamer is one of them) - convincing folks I know well there that Crysis 2 is very much worth another go, deserving of another chance, and I've played some game's with those guys to mainly positive reaction. I'm trying to spread the word in my own little way. It all helps.

Crysis 2 is a very good game online, but with some hasty updates and fixes it could be brilliant. Keep 'em coming Crytek, chop-chop.

Oh and please, please hurry up and fix the loud music bug. This one I'm down on my knees begging you for.

Glad to hear it's working out for you.

I on the other hand haven't seen much of an improvement from the previous hotfix. I don't know why but I still don't. Maybe it's a blind vision to it all at the moment because of the hatred I am currently feeling for this game, or it could be that I only have one eye. I don't know.

But, at the same time, I PATCH not a hotfix, would be nice. An INITIAL patch. Hopefully there might be one on the way as PC has the most recent (1.8) patch where as we, Xbox are still on 1.1.

You're in luck. Cry-Adam stated to the PC players that they are very aware of the issue, but unfortunately the fix didn't make it into their patch. Since this bug is present on all three platforms I assume they are aware of the problem for all three. At least they acknowledged it which means it will probably get fixed some day.

What are we nearing 3 months into this game?

I can't say too many things have been truthfully fixed on the 360 console version. It seems the PC version has been left in an even more terrible state. The game is a slight bit more stable, but I wonder how much of that is due to the fact that their matchmaking system doesn't have to handle so many players simultaneously anymore.

I would love for them to apply a magical "fix-it-all" patch, but to be honest, I don't see that happening. So far, they've released patch notes that actually do a fraction of what they say. I think this game is perma-****...

Holy sh*t, they couldn't even fix the loud music in the latest patch? THIS RELATIVELY MINOR AUDIO ISSUE?!

After two months?!

So does that mean we won't get the audio fix for another two months? Making it FOUR MONTHS TO FIX A STUPID LITTLE AUDIO BUG?!

Wonders will never cease with this developer, they really won't.

If they prove me wrong I'll take it all back and openly apologise in a f**king great big font.

Yeah, it's pretty weak. Crytek seems to have no sense of urgency when it comes to fixing the glitches that get talked about the most. This audio bug and the grain glitch have been around since day one. Crytek have been aware of them since day one and yet nothing but words. :/

The audio bug was supposed to be fixed with the 1st patch back on March 31st. It was one of the bullet points.

AHAHAHAHA

Please search for and use existing threads to provide feedback so that we can establish on a per-issue basis, what the results are and for how many people.

Thanks!
