I have this problem too. I know Crytek knows about this too, but that doesn't really make me feel better. It's been a *LONG* time since I've played a game I paid full retail for that had a bug such as this, the kind that totally drained all my desire to keep on playing, that WASN'T fixed within 48 hours of the release of said game. Most PC game bugs I encounter are of the kind that are mostly hidden in the machinations of some complex skill, or are relatively painless in the grand scheme of things. However...
Crytek is awarded zero bonus points for allowing such a glaring, OBVIOUS bug to make it to the release build. I played Fallout New Vegas last year, and had to eat bugs so awful I thought I was stuck in an episode of Fear Factor. Joe Rogan was making snide comments about my fear of eating live bugs, I swear! I digress. In F:NV, there were some painful save bugs that made me replay whole sections more than once, which sort of burnt me out prematurely on parts of the game, but the game still functioned on that basic level, ya know??? I could spend my money and confidently reload my crashed saves knowing I would have the same amount of dollars as I had when the game *actually* managed to save. SHOCKER! I know I'm kind of weird, but I think there are many a gamer who feel exactly the same way I do about how we deal with bugs in games.
Maybe we'll get lucky and there will be a patch to this within a *week* of release. Is that too much to ask? I want to assume Crytek is working around the clock to fix this.
Maximum Game? More like Maximum Lame right now. (I know, witty!)
p.s. I remember CryTom asking to list what version we're have... just remembered. Win 7 64-bit, Steam version.
