showing in first person veiw

Post » Sun Aug 23, 2009 2:32 am

I want a mesh to show in first person mode, but i dont want it attached to the hands slot. The problem is, unless it is in that slot (though it can be in others at the same time, just as long as it takes up the hands slot) it wont render.

anyone know of a work around?

I cannot help directly, but XMarksTheSpot made this Mod: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8991
Helmet FOV adds black shade to the Helmets, so it looks like they exist-- maybe something in there will help?

Went and had a look, the design for that is ingeniuos.....trouble is that it doesnt put an item there, it does it all through the skeleton and animations to swap the texture that has been put in from of the player's head.

If you have a cuirass the arms show up even though it is not in the hands slot, so the problem has to be somewhere else. Since you know about the naming conventions (http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1074627&hl=arms) I'm not sure what the problem is. What slot do you want to use? Maybe it doesn't work on some slots (like the head slot for example - would make sense).

ahh yeap, did some testing

They will show up in first person if in the upperbody slot. If i put them in like the lowerbody they dont show up though. Ideally i'd like this in the tail slot.....

ah ha! that mod did give me an idea...that works.

I attached the object directly to the first person skeleton, and it shows. Considering I can easy script a skeleton path change I should have no problems now :)

thanks for the help CDM and Phitt :)
