Crytek said they are happy with things as they are as of patch 1.9, which means they don't give a **** any more. No more fixes or changes apparently. I lost my last ounce of respect for Crytek after I read that article and watched that video.

After acquiring my second GPU, making sure that CPU is always cool, and disabling v sync i've been charging around the MP maps with rocket boosters on, experiencing virtual g-force while sprinting and even getting physically sick from all the on-screen goodies whizzing by.
The new nvidia driver will be out soon, but i'm pretty much happy as it is, i've even gone back to the Scar.

What do you expect it to do? If they where to increase the amount of tessellation then you'd moan that performance svcks. I think people expected too much.

You've missed the point completely. If you've read the article and watched that video, you would have seen how inefficient, ineffective, and inappropriate the use of tesselation was. I mean, heavily tesselating rocks UNDERGROUND WHERE YOU CAN'T SEE IT? Not to mention the wireframe rendering, which is invisible in game. Even the objects above ground, when tesselated you cannot readily tell that they are unless you're super close in wireframe mode. The only noticeable tesselation are water, rubble, and bricks, the rest were total wastes.

On a side note, patch 1.9 broke the game and/or performance for many people.

I think what they did in the DX11 patch makes Crysis 2 the best looking game yet produced. It offered a real, visible benefit and even on my old system runs at a decent FPS. I agree with your point that the 1.9 patch took a heavy hit on performance though, for me it meant an upgrade from a dual-core to a quad core processor. I think Quads are the minimum now for PC gamers.
