Wyre Mash startup

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 2:22 am

So, just installed the latest version of Wyre Mash. I downloaded Python 2.6.4, since the Python site said that it was more compatible with third party software than the later version. (I installed the later version of Python with the same results)

I checked Start and Target directories in my Wyre Mash shortcut, and both are accurate. I went to the website and followed the instructions to get a bug dump, as the other troubleshooting tips there didn't work.

The bug dump went as follows:

C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Mopy>c:\python26\python.exe mash.py 0
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "mash.py", line 7, in
import masher
File "C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Mopy\masher.py", line 26, in
import wx
ImportError: No module named wx

The Wyre Mash site said I should post here, so this is it. Any suggestions?

Yeah, this program is not something to go solo on the install process with. The help file has links because you need 2 files for python, not 1.

You will need http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.5/python-2.5.msi and http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wxpython/wxPython2.8-win32-ansi-2.8.0.1-py25.exe. Install both of those and you will be good to go. Use 2.5.

Here is the full help file at wrye's webpage. A lot of people have been using this for a while so I think wrye just assumes that everyone already has a link to this file. In any case, here is the http://wryemusings.com/Wrye%20Mash.html.

Thanks! Downloading that file and switching to 2.5 of Python worked out great :)
