Fallout 3 should go to mac

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 6:10 am

I think they should make a mac version of Fallout 3, so all of those millions of mac users can blast Mr. Tennpenny's head off too. Being a mac user myself, I would by it in a second!

It would take way too much works to port it to Mac, and Microsoft probably would send a bit of $ Bethesda's way to keep it on PC anyway.

Also, Mac FTW, I'm using my Mac Book Pro at the moment.

Can't you run it from Virtuals?

I presumed that a Mac already has Windows inside now, and most Apple-ites boast that it runs windows better than a PC!

Is it true? ;)

Not wishing to start a brand war here but the two reasons we don't see this on Mac are because as a DirectX game it'd have to be totally recoded from the ground up to work on a Mac and the target audience is too small to justify it, especially hardware that may have many qualities but isn't at the sharp end of gaming technology. Most mac users are just running a dual boot arrangement to play windows games these days anyway so it's really a choice between remaking a game for those who don't want to install the required software or just letting those that do play.

Hundreds of millions of Windows users are why games are not made for Macs.

True that. It annoys me to no end that developers would cut themselves short with their creativity and whatnot just to make their game play decent on a console. I would say "Make if amazing on the PC or don't bother putting it on PC" but then devs would actually NOT make it for PC. One of the reasons I like Crysis is because it was designed for the PC. Current consoles couldn't even run it if they wanted to.

Why is this in the Mod Section anyway? It has nothing to do with mods...

Just bootcamp it, it won't be ported because there's not enough demand.

Yep. Nothing to do with the mods and closed before it turns into a platform debate., or debacle may be a better word.
