Slight problem in changing class

Post » Wed Nov 30, 2011 12:10 pm

Hey guys,

My characters a pure warrior/smithing and to be honest I really do not like it that much. I was hoping I could switch to daggers/archer midway as I am only level 16. First question is are daggers counted as a one handed weapon? Second is will it benefit me from using light armour instead of heavy armour? Lots of debates on HA vs LA.

Well, if you join the Dark Brotherhood, you get a pair of boots which muffle sound and seem to allow you to move without detection irrespective of what the rest of your armour is. The switch to light armour would be mainly for roleplaying purposes, as you'll never really need armour at all once you level up sneak a bit.

Daggers are one-handed. You can use them interchangeably with any other one-handed weapon, although some of the perks only apply to one type of weapon. There is no serious penalty to changing out one type of one-handed weapon for another if you feel like it.

Heavy armor, meanwhile, is heavy. Light armor is light. You run faster in light armor, but take more damage if hit. Honestly, they're close enough that if you have already spent time and points on leveling up Heavy, you probably might as well keep going with Heavy, so that your skill ranks still count. (Unless, of course, you really do want just try something new, and don't mind doing a little grinding to get your light armor skill up.)

Awesome, thanks guys, seems sticking to heavy armour is the best choice for me then!
