My Warrior / My Game Difficulty

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 9:59 pm

I'm finally about the start the game and get cracking but, after reading quite a few posts I'm not sure what difficulty to start on. I don't want the game to be so easy that I get bored and I don't want to have to repeat a fight twenty odd times. What would you suggest as the perfect level of play?

Now I know that i want to play a Warrior but I would also like to throw some Magic in there too. What build would you guys suggest?

Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm one of those who struggles with decisions ;)

Whatever you do, do something that helps you kill fireball mages because without some kind of counter they will totally screw you up and make you hate the game and kick and scream about how freaking OP they are. (1 fireball pretty much kills you)

'Perfect level of play' depends on how good you are at ES games and what type of character you play as. It will be different for everyone. Just start on the middle difficulty and just change it if it's wrong (you can do that you know) :P

I'm a level 21 magic-warrior high elf... Conjured weapons & minions, no hirelings needed (yet), light armor, one-handed weapon + shield, with a smattering of alteration (stoneflesh) and restoration. Most "normal" mobs are pretty easy for me. I can whack a bandit in 3 hits with the conjured sword, assuming he doesn't block. However, I died a bazillion times facing-off against the Druagh Battlelord in the mine (Mage's College line) until I finally resorted to running circles and re-casting my fire atronach over and over and over. That was, by far, the worst fight I've had. I die pretty easily vs ice wraiths, it seems, but that's due to their magic. Everything else has been decently-difficult. Even dragons.

This is on the default difficulty.
