Honestly could have be presented so much better. Instead of btw, you know that guy with all those major lines and plot involvement, hes bad go kill him plz?

Well yeah, the presentation definitely lacks style and depth, still with beter presentation it would still have amounted to the blades saying the same thing. Him or us.

It's stupid they even thought the PC would accept that. The Blades were next to useless through the entire thing.

I still don't understand this, why was it lame? They asked you to kill a mass murdered and somebody that basically commited genocide.

They also asked you to kill mankind's savior, and someone who hasn't shown hostility for thousands of years. They didn't demand that Tiber Septim kill him, and they even allowed Tiber to have at least one dragon among his ranks during the conquest of Hammerfell.

I can understand them requesting you kill him out of mistrust and fear, but for them to completely turn their backs on you because you have no reason to believe he's a serious threat is completely different. It's not like you're refusing to kill dragons, or that you wouldn't kill him if he became hostile. It just makes the Blades look like they're more out for blood to commit dragon genocide now, than simply guarding against the threat the dragons pose. If the threat can be neutralized by making them peaceful, why kill?

I'd also point you to the Orcs... a race of lethal warriors who have an in-bred need to fight and battle, yet became a part of the Empire and have been living in relative peace once they united under Gortwog, who was willing to set aside his nature and attempt diplomacy. Granted, he got a big stompy robot to help back their position, but they've made good on their word (relatively speaking). If the dragons are honestly trying to change and be peaceful, as Paarthurnax shows is possible, why not give them a chance?

I see no problem with their request, in fact it's completely understandable. Especially because the guy is a Dragon and dragons by their very nature seek to dominate and control.

You might not agree with them, but from their standpoint it sounds completely logical to want to the guy.

The way the game presented the character sure seemed like he averted genocide and turned from his ways for the past eras. Even if he participated in the previous war, it is illogical that the Blades are fine keeping the next right hand dragon alive as he just recently participated in mass murder and doesn't seem to care much of it.

If Paarthurnax's crimes were so unforgivable, why didn't the people who actually remembered them and lived under his tyranny judge them as such? Why is this suddenly an issue now, after all memory has faded and everyone involved is long dead?
The Blades are probably right in who Paarthurnax is, but I don't think they were ever the ones to dispense justice. If the very people who suffered under him elected to forgive, maybe even call him friend, who are the Blades to demand his death?

The whole thing reeks of opportunism on the part of the Blades, now that nobody is left who will speak up against it. That's not justice, that's just thuggish

The blades come across as the megalomaniacs in all of this.
They did exactly nothing the whole quest, there information was basically useless - The grey beards were FAR more helpful .
Esbern brought a single logical solution to the table during the truce talks - hardly needed a Blade for that - that they invited themselves to with no prior warning or right to attend.
Then after all is said and done, they demand that the Dragonborn kills Parthunax.

GTFO.
