Help me if you would like.

My official thread for help.

I want torches. I can't seem to find any. I remember at the start of the game I was able to take them from dungeon walls, now I can't find any. If you know anywhere they are or where they are sold please help me.

Also what is the best light armor? Right now I'm using superior leather. I think elvin is better right? I just hate the way it looks. After looking at all te armor I'm thinking I should of invested perks into heavy. The armor looks so much cooler and there are so many choices. Thanks for the help.

I dunno about torches on the wall but you won't need them very often anyway unless you just happen too really like torches.

As for light armor, just keep smithing and lvling up and you"ll start getting better stuff soon.

I had such a time at the beginning wondering where to get torches, I checked all the stores with no luck and barrels, chests etc never seemed to have them - then I discovered you could pick them from the walls of certain dungeons. I've found mines in particular to be good for this, other then that I can't really help.

As for light armour I think it goes: hide, leather, elven, glass and so on - I know there's other, but these are what I've come across myself. Glass looks freakin' awesome in this game!

glass is light but then you can only make glass weps. dragon smithing is light amour and heavy. dragonscale amour (light) is the bets on the light amours while dragonbone amour (heavy) is the seacond best of the heavey (the first being deidric but im sure if u up the dragon amour with improvements and enchants itill be better then dedric) you can always still were light amour but go into heavy so u can make dedric weps and have dragonscale amour

Elven is light armor. And torches as said can be found in dungeons and sometimes in stores. But you would probably be better off enchanting some piece of equipment with a light enchant.

Thanks I didn't realize you could do that with the light. I juts really like torches. I don't like the look of the candlelight spell. It's so bright. In oblivion I had 100's but Skyrim I was lucky to find 5.

I'm still a little confused. I've invested perk points into light armor. I want to stick with light armor. What smithing perks should I choose. I don't want to waste a perk on a smithing perk that only lets you make heavy armor. I also would like to know the best bow in the game. Actually don't tell me because I really want to find it myself and not have it spoiled, just let me know if there is any bow better than glass. I found a glass bow in a chest right from the start and it is the best one do far. I was lucky to get it so soon.

Another question on smithing. Can you smith past superior and if yes how, with a perk?

Thanks again. If you can answer all my question great. If not then any help would be great. Just try to leave out any major spoilers if there is any.

Smithing details can be found @ Skyrim Wiki

Smithing Perks enable you to craft and improve all different armours - and there's a specific perk to improve magical armour
http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Smithing#Smithing_Perks

Yes you can improve armour past superior, there are a number of grades, but you'll need perks to reach the legendary level unless you boost your smithing level with potions and/or armour enchantments

Ya google is but sometimes it's nice to have info on a forum for other new and old players. That's what the forums are for right, discussion and questions. I even have the guide but I didn't really look through it yet since I didn't want spoilers. That's another reason I made a post. I didn't want I look in the guide or online and see some huge spoilers about getting armor if any at all but it's good to be safe when you have invested over a hundred hours into a game, svcks to have it spoiled. Honeslty it's better to get answers from actual personal experience, it's cool to hear people's opinions on things. I guess that's why I made a thread for any questions I have and maybe someday someone will ask the same questions I have.

Now that took longer then just getting an answer without as remark after answering the question. Hey it's a better thread than 'beat skyrim what do I do' right? Anyway thanks for the answer, it's what I was looking for. Now for another question I can probably look up on google but want to know from personal experience. Is there a certain side of the perk tree I should focus on if I'm just using light armor? The whole reason I made this post was I didn't want to pick a perk that only allows me to make heavy armor. My perks points are very precious to me. I put much thought into choosing one. Thanks again.

Certain npcs seem to carry lots of torches. Early going i was same like you. After farming some npcs alll of a sudden i had 20 torches in my inventory. You will find lots, just depends on specific npc camp you happen to clear

There are torch sconces located in various dungeons, and if you can click on them, you can either remove the torch or put a torch in it.

Don't use the wikia.com site, it's crap compared to the one that's been around for years: http://www.uesp.net - No ads, just fast, clean content on everything Elder Scrolls, from the first to the latest. Mind you, it'll be a little bit of time before everything Skyrim-related is cataloged.

I don't need to use torches, but sometimes I like to wade in and bash things with a mace, and one of the neat little things about using a torch is this time around, you actually block with the torch! If only it were possible to add some means of pushing it at the enemy on striking to add some fire damage.

As for the dragon-related smithing, you have to complete the Heavy Armor side of Smithing to unlock it, taking the Light Armor side ends at Glass armor. Otherwise, get enough gear that improves your Smithing quality on top of getting your Smithing ability maxed out.
