Cyrodiil or Skyrim

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 8:44 pm

Which land did you enjoy wandering about more.

I personally like Cyrodiil because I liked the setting better, it was more like a medieval kinda vibe. Skyrim is more like barbarians.

I love Skyrim though, better than I did Oblivion but still, I kinda miss Cyrodiil. I have never played Morrowind so I would not know about that :(

Cyrodiil as a setting. Skyrim for hand-craftedness.

Skyrim - there's actually a point to wandering around.

I loved Oblivion, but by christ it was boring. There was absolutely nothing in the world worth looking at.

Skyrim is much more fun to explore, Cyrodiil was too blue and green.

Cyrodiil is really nice and lush, but it can look quite bland, and rather generic (and sometimes cartoony due to the simple brightness and smoothness of everything). But I do agree I miss Cyrodiil sometimes when playing Skyrim, particularly Blackwood. Overall though, I definitely like Skyrim more, much nicer world, more diverse, and every view is different (whereas in OB much of it looked the same, few interesting landmarks).

Vvanderfell!!! Then in 2nd place comes Skyrim and then Cydoriil. And I've only been to four cities but I already love it a lot more.

Morrowind was a lot more creative.

i love both. I miss Oblivion in some aspects, mainly the DB and thiefsguild quests.

Also miss the guilds being located in each major city with quests in all of them.

i also miss the light athmosphere of Oblivion.

Skyrim. I did love wandering around Cyrodill, but Skyrim has more variety for me.

Skyrim wins hands down, Cyrodiil got so boring and uninspiring after a little while.

Really, just take a look at Nehrim to see what Cyrodiil could have looked like with some better art direction.
Skyrim on the other hand looks unique, like they really put some thought into making a nice fantasy setting.
As did Vvardenfell, by the way.

Oh and small trivia: originally (prior to Oblivion) Cyrodiil was supposed to be jungle, not english countryside.
It was retconned for Oblivion.

Skyrim, i love the icy tundra feeling it has. And I really love hunting horkers in the northern parts.

Skyrim is a lot more diverse than Cyrodiil imo. I see screen caps from places I haven't been and I'm like OMG MUST GO THERE, whereas a lot of Cyrodiil looks quite similar.

You obviously never played Morrowind. Lot more of everything of course it didn't look better back then.

Skyrim.

Cyrodiil was awful. Boring, bland and nothing like it had been represented in previous lore. The only part of Cyrodiil I actually liked was the mountains in the north, which explains why I like wandering Skyrim so much.
