So there i was...

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 9:51 am

I was in Dawnstar and a dragon flew overhead, big whup i thought, but a blood dragon followed it and i have never taken on two dragons before so i wasn't so sure about it. I killed the dragons and saved Dawnstar but a civilian got within swinging range and i accidently killed them and gained a 1000gold bounty, i saved their village and they charge me a 1000gold...wtf?! ?? ungrateful

What are some of the moments you've had when someone or something has completely made you go 'WTF?'
No spoilers though please

I learned never to attack dragons with anything except a bow, because your bound to murder a guard. This happens a lot because of the guards want to hog all the space of where you can actually hit the dragon...

Wasn't it either Morrowind or Oblivion that had a forgiving system? Where a person in a fight with you (on your side) would say something like "Hey watch it" or "Do it again and we'll have problems" before you got a bounty.

Same here - I don't melee dragons when there are guards and other people around. The risk for slapping a NPC is very high in dragon combat, because they run around in chaos.
I don't melee them any more anyway, since my archery brings them down in around 8 arrows :)

Although I still do the fire shout at dragons even if it hits the guards because I don't care much for their safety they can be replaced.

Hehe, I hear ya. I flame at them while they're hovering - give them some of their own medicine.

was annoying though because when one would land i activate berserk which can only be used once per day and it would fly off so i felt like i wasted it lol

When I was still melee'ing them back to their graves, I remember under one combat I took some resistance potions, and a potion that gave me 50% more melee damage - then the bugger lifted off and stayed in the air, almost depleting the potion powers -_-

My first random dragon.

I was in an imperial camp and it flew overhead. There wasn't much cover so I spent a lot of time ducking and weaving.. I couldn't even land much damage on it, when it suddenly turned tail and ran.

It was heading for Riften and I knew I couldn't just let it go, so I ran after it.

When I caught it, it was bleeding to hell, and whimpering in the corner while a bear and a sabre toothed tiger were tag teaming it like a squeaky toy. I actually had to run in and save the dragon in the end.. it was just too cruel.

Well, since many NPC in Skyrim just plain die in one sword hit, there's little doubt "Sorry, I won't do it again!" is true but forgiveness isn't easy to get.

You could raise the NPC as a zombie and ask him if he forgives you for killing him but I doubt you'll get a positive answer out of that :D

LOL.. I also chased down a dragon once, which was happier slaying goats, elks and bears - when suddenly it's soul came flying towards me - I was too late saving it from a ravenous rabbit -_-

I tend to struggle with those dragon guardians more than the dragons themselves though which i find a bit weird >.<

Same. Gives me a chance to get back at them for constantly talking at me while I'm in the middle of a dialogue with an npc for a quest I'm on.

Sometimes for the heck of it I will attack a guard and have every guard in town after me then use the Become Ethereal shout and watch while they clobber Lydia to a pulp.

Pretty much the same thing as you OP. Most of the time, NPCs will give me a "grace" period in combat. I am swinging away at the baddie, they jump in front of me and I hit them once with a power attack and ALMOST kill them and they just say, "Hey watch it! Same side!" Other times, I accidentally hit someone for little to no damage, and get 1000 fine for assaulting a guard. :/

I wouldn't rely on bows to not hit bystanders.

I was outside Riften, talking to a guy to finish a misc quest, when down comes a blood dragon. Well I hate to be interrupted so we finished our conversation while the guards fruitlessly tried to fend off the (rude) dragon.
I whip out my bow, take aim at said reptile as it comes in to land... At the moment of release (with no prior warning) a guard's horse leaps infront of me.

Bearing in mind my Legendary glass bow does some epic damage with the added + 120 in fortify archery enchantments, it also does 20 fire damage... The result was a flaming horse limping lifelessly into the night, never to be seen again.

I had to keep talking guards into leaving me alone, as I wasn't worth it apparently, for the sake of my massive bounty of 2!!

Damn horse!
