Count backward from 11/11/11

Post » Sat Oct 31, 2009 2:57 pm

Right, I don't remember my timelines counting back from release, and am not in the profession. So, just how far along are they? Release backwards to going gold backwards to final polish, etc....

Any theory on the dates or windows for those?

Right, the game hits the sheles on 11/11/11

Prior to that it goes to the presses, "going gold." How far away from the release does that happen?

Prior to that, they do all of the debugging, final polishing, run through the achievements, etc. How far back from going god does this happen/how long is this period?

So at what point in the development process do you think they are?

They're quite far into development I'd say. Well, I think it's fair to say the game will be 100% completed content wise sometime next summer.

I cant tell you backwards but I can forwards:
This coming week they will release screenshots.
In January they will announce TES V as the cover for GI followed by the mag hitting shelves.
Once everyone has sunk their teeth into all of the info that the mag has to offer they will upload more info slowly and along with screen-shots and technical information until E3.
At E3 they will showcase the game (most likely at the Xbox 360 event) and show gameplay videos.
After E3 is quake con where they will release more information and have even more gameplay videos.
Not much will happen in september.
In october the development will be finished and they will release the final information followed by previews on every game site just before November.
November will see the midnight releases and reviews giving Skyrim 10/10.

Game Informer cover has already been announced, and don't expect to see screens before then. Game Informer are paying them specifically to be the outlet of their first info and screens.

Also I recall them releasing gameplay videos for Oblivion a couple months prior to E3.
