Flood of info in Jan?

Post » Sat Oct 31, 2009 7:01 am

So I remember Todd saying that when they showed it finally, they wanted to show a lot. It seems that they are waiting for the Feb GI to show anything. I am sure they have some deal worked out with them. However, once Jan rolls around then can we expect to see a lot more than just even the screens? Like say some video? Or do you guys think it will be E3 before we see any video?

Not to mention that this forum is probably going to have 10 threads or more on the Mag Article the day it comes out.

God I hope Game Informer has plenty of info. It'll seriously advance our conversations on these forums.

Also, I'd like if Todd told us some things that WON'T be in Skyrim. Just so we won't be disappointed when the game is released.

i doubt we'll see video before E3 or perhaps PAXEAST ( Boston- March 11th-13th 2011) (really really hoping to see something there).. but i'm sure every shred of the GI article will be dissected moments after hitting the stands.. worry not

The story is going to span a twelve-page spread, so I expect we are going to get an ideal amount of info. It's unfortunate for folks outside of the US, but like others have said, it will be all over the internet within the day.

I predict that no matter how much they show us in Jan. or any month thereafter it will not be enough to quench our thirst for knowledge about this game. The only thing that will is the actual game itself.

i stopped subscribing to game informer the day i subscribed to it at my local gamestop, as usual... and i only got a single freaking issue!

i paid for a full year, and i didnt get anywhere near a year's worth of magazines... so, yeah... screw game informer.

i'll get the images and info online, im not paying for some rip-off magazine, anymore.

I'm not certain, but I think subscribers get each issue a few days before it appears in stores.

If there will be cover stories in magazines in other countries as well - can we be sure that Gameinformer will indeed be the first one?

For example, the German one that is most likely to cover it releases its Feb issue at the end of December (however, I think they'll cover it in the March issue then).

Yup. Book/magazine stores, gaming stores, etc. No subscription needed.

I'm kinda uncertain as to whether or not I want to know a lot about Skyrim before release. I ate up every scrap of information in anticipation of Oblivion, and by the time it came out I knew about every faction, the gist of the story, I had an idea about the major cities, etc... I think that might've taken away some of the impact of that game for me. I went into Morrowind without any preconceived notions as to what it held, and the payoff in surprises and depth was incredible. It's going to be incredibly difficult to resist once information becomes available tho, so who knows. These are different times we're living.

The same thing happened to my brother. Paid for a year and only got two magazines and it was the same issue! Now they offer an online magazine through email so you'll be sure to get one and it comes out a week before the mail magazine. That's what I have.

Anyway, I'm definitely looking forward to next months GI as we all are.

I think the flow of information will be much like food. When Jan hits, we will get a big meal to digest and this will spawn new speculation and maybe resolve some old debates. Eventually, we will have picked the bones clean wrung every bit of sustenance out of it and be waiting for the next frenzy. I just hope the bits we get between Jan and Nov will be timely and enough to prevent an outbreak of cannibalism.
