My home in Whiterun is haunted

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 2:38 am

There's a rabbit leg that appears on the floor next to the room with the alchemy table, it drives me crazy. I'll pick it up and set it on the plate with the other leg on the shelf.

After a hard day of adventuring I come home to wash the dragon blood off my face and hair, but low and behold the rabbit leg is back on the floor again.

I'm half expecting chairs to be stacked up on a table next time I come home. It could be Lydia trying to make me insane though, perhaps I should lure her to a dark cave somewhere, and stab her to death with the leg.. that'll teach her.

the reason for you finding you're items on the floor is there is a glitch in the game system, basically bethesda has not allowed us to yet fully decorate our homes, so therefore even though you place items where you'd like them, after x amount of time they will still respawn. the reason they respawn on the floor is because thats where you last dropped the item. I've had the same issue trying to place items on shelfs etc. I don't know of a work around for this yet.

In the case of Breezehome, said rabbit haunch spawns on the floor to begin with. As the items are already in the house, but disabled until you buy the associated upgrade, I'm guessing it was deliberately put on the floor. As for the one fellow's skooma bottle: if it wasn't there to begin with I've no idea, unless the physics engine is acting funny again.

The game has trouble remembering where things shoudl be if you drag them. Try picking up the rabbit leg (into your inventory) and then drop it on the table. It should remain where you drop it.

I walked into my house today and found my armor Mannequin was over in my kitchen, rubbing and licking a rabbits leg. When it saw me it looked embarrassed and dropped the leg on floor. MYSTERY SOLVED

What's this thing about the Mannequin? Is it really possessed or something?...

Something strange happened in my home, but in Windhelm. It was like telekinesis, 2 buckets had orange outlining around them and they like "attacked" me once with a huge sprinting force. Never happened again though.

I put the Blades Sword on my weapon rack in Breezhome, now it is hanging from the roof right above the weapon rack.

The houses are all a little buggy, I can place some items on shelves and have them stay there no problem and other items fall every time off the same shelf. I really hope it gets fixed as I would love to replace most of the just crap that they put in the house's with the junk that i hind around skyrim instead

The Physics in the cells is a little overactive. Not as bad as Oblivion when it came out where just walking into a room would cause everything in the room to fly all over the place. They toned that down in a patch. Then, Fallout 3 came out, same thing until they toned that down in a patch. New Vegas was better at launch and I don't think it was ever patched. I had hopes for Skyrim being like New Vegas, but nope.

So, hopefully this will be addressed in the upcoming game data patch.

I ate the rabbit leg, and sacrificed Lydia for the ebony armor, just to be sure. I highly recommend everyone do the same, because after enough, "I am sworn to carry your burdens," I was exuberant about ending her.

I kept dropping my gaunts of alchemy on the alchemy table in Whiterun, but everytime I came back in the house, they were on the floor. I didn't pick them up and put them there, I dropped them straight from my inventory onto the table (and some stuff on the table next to it.) Bugged? Sure. But roaches don't pay rent and THEY CAN'T LIVE IN MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!!

I have the same rabbit leg in my Whiterun home. Spooky.

Actually if you move an item in a cell, and then leave for some let of time the cell will reset and things will revert to their default position. At least that is the way it worked in Oblivion - for example you can knock Welkynd stones off their pedestals and then return to see them back up there. I think the Skyrim engine still has that. I suspect that is so they don't need to keep the position of every moved item in game saves, and so bloating the saves.

But if you eat the rabbit leg, it no longer exists in the game and shouldn't come back. Not sure what happens to the bones after you eat the leg.

I had this issue with one of the skulls I brought home to my house in Whiterun. It was because I took a pot off the shelf and replaced it with a skull, so when the pot tried to reposition itself, it pushed my skull onto the floor. I just moved the skull to a spot where it had room and everything is OK. I have been hoarding human and troll skulls because they look so awesome in this game.
