I think I'm giving this game up, it's been two weeks of me gettin my ass sent back to me on a silver platter when I fight magic mobs...

I gotten so weary of the whole, save every 5 steps, encounter Mage, get sent to the effing wood shed for a proverbrial whoopin, then load last save, rinse then repeat 10 to 12 times.

If you are one of the narrow minded "omfg skysrims is like the best game evar! You shouldn't complain about it's bugs! Evar lulz!" whom enjoy playing the game congrats to you and your game. It's a very good game I know, I very much enjoyed the story and the artwork was very nice in my experience. But the lack of backbone in the game is just to aggravating for me.

I enjoy spelunking in the game alot and that's why I bought it. However when I begin the long and tedious act I really don't like a ln ungodly amount of hell raining down on me, and when I walk around a corner and see a dark Mage grinning like a downsyndromed cat and he like "hur hur I has fire balls.." I'm in a state of "well [censored] this is probably more than likely going to tingle."

If anyone plays Gears of Gore 3 I'll be more than happy to send an invite and play them there. Unfortunately however I feel Bethesda really has dropped the ball and driven away a few fans.

You do know there are ways to avoid getting fricasseed by magic, right? Potions, enchantments, armor, etc.

Plus splitting their skull with an axe puts an end to the fireballs...

That is like saying; If you have problems with that mob killing you, just kill him first.

Well yeah I do know about the enchants and potions, but the resistance algorithms are still broken and waiting two weeks to not have my [censored] pounded into the cobblestone is a little much I think.

Resistances are fixed in the latest patch.

I'm a warrior/battlemage, and I have never used any resists. I don't have any problem with mages at default difficulty.

Well, granted that elemental and magic resistances being broken does kinda screw things up. What's the latest patch and when did it come out? Last one I know of was a week or two ago I thought? I haven't checked in too much over the past week.

I am sort of a weaker player in retrospect, as I'm not really good with combat timing I kind of rely on resistance and the like.

I'm kind of a dike for [censored]ing with the rest of the horde I know, but you do have to admit for those of us that don't over abuse the game and have that same character that uses the strongest armor and the single strongest weapon. It does really get [censored] when you want to use your cool thieves guild armor but can't be cause the rating is to low to even deflect falling snow.

Ah, now see, that's a different ballgame.

"I get owned by enemies" is completely different to "I get owned by enemies because I chose to wear weaker armour and wield weaker weapons."

I just recently switched to playing as a spellsword, using a upgraded dawnbreaker, fireball or firebolt and then switch between health and soul trap spells and holy crap..... That combo kicks ass! Also wearing full set of armor of the old gods (special foresworn armor) untill I get my light dragon armor.

Mages are 'linear' and warriors (tend to be) 'quadratic', so they'll be harder at first (and peaked in difficultly for me when I was aroundabout level 20), but then get steadily easier once you wait it out. Once you get beyond a certain point, the only bother you'll have is ice mages slowing you to a crawl.

Once you have fixed resistances, anyway

I can't say I've had problems with mages. If it's truly to the point where it's game-breaking, either wait for a patch or use your shouts. Become Etheral and sprint-attack them, and they drop like flies. Ice Form and pick them off one by one.

I've had MANY dungeons that were brutally difficult, especially for the character I was playing's style. I had to adapt and use all the utility abilities I had, as well as my one strength over the AI: Intelligence.

I haven't actually gotten any resist magic enchants on my characters, and they aren't broken on my game, so maybe it's a problem with your playstyle's weakness being magic, and it's just magnified by the lack of resistances.
