Would you like to see a werewolf/vampire skill tree?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 10:05 pm

I started this topic in the Gamefaqs forums and thought I would propose the idea here at the Bethesda Forums.

Its just a thought but I really would have liked the idea of having a separate skill set specifically designed for vampires and werewolves. Maybe it could come in the form of a DLC with the requirements being you are one of the two and at a decent enough level (30 maybe?). Completing the quests gives you perks specific to that set to improve on, but you would level up those skills by simply being in those forms and killing or eating things..

Im mostly bringing this up because I am currently playing as a werewolf and at level 63 your not all that tough anymore. You have no armor so you can be in some cases one shotted by the enemy, your fear howl only works up to level 26, and if your character didnt focus on One-handed then they dont deal as much damage. It would just be nice to have a tree that could, say, increase your hand to hand damage (specific to your werewolf form, not your base character), how much damage you could take, or even controlling when you turn.

Vampires could get more lasting benefits from drinking blood and if they progress down the tree enough they may even be able to stave off the suns harmful rays (yes I know it defeats the idea, but maybe having a higher tolerance once you hit the later stages would be welcome). Or there could be a perk that makes it easier to communicate with NPC's even at the higher stages.

So whats you take?

YES! If Dovahdork gets all those perks and whatnot, vampires and weres deserve it too. Feeding on awake people would be cool.

Forced transformations for werewolves is all I want.

Probrably one of the smartest ideas I have heard yet...

It only makes sense to unlock a whole new tree of perks when you become a vampire/werewolf since its a new style of gameplay.

I wanted werewolf perk tree since I found out about werewolves in skyrim.
They could also add a perk tree for vampires but I don't care that much cause I never play as a vampire, maybe if there would be a perk tree I would.

And you should add poll to this topic

I always thought it would be cool to have a vampire kill move that can be used to feed. Like you impale your enemy grab them around the neck and drink. Cant say blood wouldn't be warm then.

I love it! I would love for them to improve over the Vampire/Werewolf transformations. Should make a poll.

Actually it would be pretty easy with a perk...

Blood Thirst: With every kill you have a 25% chance to quickly drain the blood of your victim restoring your hunger.

Basically every time a finishing move is triggered you impale the enemy at the neck and drink for a few seconds before going back to idle stance.

They really should have given the vampires some kill cinematics.

@ OP: Werewolves get their armor rating through the Light Armor tree and perks. My werewolf form is similar however (as I do not invest points into Light Armor), but he does a LOT of damage, which I love. Sprint attack through a mammoth and it falls down dead

Forced transformations would be awesome, because, I think, they would give a flaw to being a werewolf. And I mean a real flaw, as opposed to this 'oh, you can't get a well-rested bonus!' rubbish.

No, not really then when your in the middle of a quest you transform and you cant grab the item, the you are forced to wait until you go back to normal or when you are in the middle of a city if the guards see you they will give you a bounty and try to kill you. Or if you are trying to do something important and can't continue... How about when there is a full moon or night time. Then your chances of becoming one would be like 10%

A cool perk would be if you could jump really high or gain xp when in that form with the items equipped before transformation

That's what a 'flaw' is. You risk the guards or whoever discovering you in exchange for all the werewolf powers.

By Azura by Azura by Azura, yes. Though it won't happen.

For us PC lot, I am not sure about the modding situation with perks. With any luck it will be possible with mods but it seems doubtful to me for some reason, though I am completely ignorant as far as modding goes...

Well you would have to keep an eye on your transformation time. How do you think we real life werewolves cope?

Yeah, they definately need to make some changes to Vampirism. My Dunmer Nightblade is a Vampire, and it can be a hassle, even though almost all of the Vampire bonuses benefit her playstyle. One thing that annoys me, is that when i feed, i can't just "Reset" the counter on my current level of Vampirism, whenever i feed, it always reverts me to Lvl 1. Lvl 2 Vampirism is particularly useful for her, since she has 50% Resist Frost then (100% with Nightingale Armor) and has no Weakness to Fire yet. Lvl 3 is also good for the better Powers, but she does have 25% Weakness to Fire then, plus she's so close to Lvl 4, that i HAVE to feed within 24 hours and revert to Lvl 1, otherwise every NPC will attack me. Even with 100 Sneak fully perked and with Muffle and Invisibility, somehow, them damn NPCs can still find me sometimes. They need to add a quest for the Volkihar that gives you a Constant Active Effect that increases the power of your Frost Breath, and the duration of your Ice Form shouts.

Personally I'd rather not see the devs wasting time developing anything substantial for what is a niche part of gameplay, but I would like to see a H2H skill return. That way, werewolf attacks could be based on that skill and not on some [censored] link of being related to how well you swing a sword.

A joinable faction for each curse, and werewolves in the wild for me to hunt would be nice, but anything particularly in depth as far as quest lines go should be left to modders imo.
