So I'm playing a Dead is Dead character and roleplaying too. Without going into too much detail the reason for my Imperial monk coming to Skyrim was to secure an alliance with the Stormcloaks, because his order oppose the Thalmor and want them out of the Empire. So after escaping with Ralof and travelling to Whiterun for some reason I went around doing good deeds for the people of the town, fighting bandits in the countryside nearby, even hiring a mercenary to help me with all this. Then I find myself walking back towards Riverwood, a mission to find some Dragon Stone in an old ruin and all of a sudden I stop dead in my tracks and think "Why the hell am I doing all this? Shouldn't I be heading off to meet Ulfric Stormcloak to help him win the civil war, thus securing an alliance, the whole reason I came to this freezing foreign land in the first place?"
Is it possible to do the stormcloak quests without doing the MQ, its kind of my first character so I'm not too sure on anything like this? I don't want to do everything with the same character so maybe I will leave the MQ to another character if its possible. Its a Dead is Dead character anyway, so I need a more realisticly achieveable goal than "do absolutely everything".
