There are folks in full heavy armor who can outrun me. I'm level 42 and have stamina beyond health.
The plodding around in Wonderland never goes away, it is not forgotten. It is with you every step of the way. This is not FALLOUT. The Elder Scrolls games are not based on life in Los Angeles or DC or even Toronto, before or after a nuclear event. We used to be able to run for more than a awkward sprint. It's like playing with a leg iron attached . Yes, Skyrim is a great game. Yes, it will sell. Of course I still 'like' it. But this changes things.
The wonder, the joy of unrestrained speed in a rich land is gone.
I wish someone could tell me why it's gone. I've read here that some failed at 'immersion' because acrobatics and high speed made it impossible for them to 'believe' they were actually in the game. (Swinging swords weighing 16 to 80 pounds or never sleeping was apparently fine and did not break the illusion)
Yes, I like Skyrim. Yes, I miss running, really running.
