I was really into Oblivion. I only played 1 character, a high-elf female mage. She was a terror. When I started playing Skyrim a few weeks ago I created a similar character, took over the Mage College and participated in some of the main/civil war quest line. I love the new stone/ebony/dragonskin flesh protection spells and the bound weapons in this game are fantastic. I mostly just ripped off fireballs at enemies. After reaching level 40 I thought Id start a new warrior-type character. As amazing as the Skyrim experience had been up until this point I just felt like there was a side of the game that I was missing. This was a big step and an unexpected change of pace. When diving into a game like this I know beforehand I'm going to dedicate a lot of time to my character and in my rather distinguished history of gaming, when given the choice I've always chosen the mage/magic character, pretty much every time. Even in the classic game Gauntlet (holla back) I was the wizard. Who the hell chooses the wizard? Even the green elf was better! In any case, I found the home town warrior path to be the most organic, real experience one can have in this amazing game. I was hesitant at first, thinking that I would dabble from time to time with the new character but continue playing as the arch-mage, but as soon as I started crafting legendary armor and decapitating Forsworn (FINISH HIM!) I was hooked. Anyone else out there give in the the lure of the sword over the spell? Peace and love, this game ROCKS! :mohawk:
