Taking on a Giant

Post » Tue Dec 20, 2011 4:50 pm

I got a bounty to kill a certain Giant. My last experience had me flying over half of Skyrim.
I'm now at level 20, I have decent equipment but nothing great. Any tips on how I can kill a giant relatively painlessly?

For some reason the Giant glitch fixed itself for me after level 12, but before then make sure to stock up on arrows, potions and take your time. Wait until the Giant is alone and chug an archer potion and unleash a volley of sneak attack arrows. Make use of longranged attacks and use Unrelenting Force if he gets too near.

Shouldn't be too difficult at your level. Just equip your best gear/spells/etc and add health potions to your favourites menu and just fight it as you would a dragon, just keep an eye on your health and keep using the potions as required.

My skills are a bit of a mish mash... but primarily a bow user, and for melee I switch to 1H (frost axe) and a destruction spell (firebolt currently my most advanced spell). I wear heavy armour.

Bunch of exploiters here. Simple.

- A great twohanded weapon.
- The book "Words & Philosophy" to learn the importance of tactical combat and dodging.
- A set of steel balls.
- Armour.
- Unrelenting Force and other shouts.

If your melee, there attacks are kinda slow and you can move out the way, get in a few hits, move out the way, get in a few hits, it take a long time and one mess up and your dead, but that's how I killed my first one.
