Small questions about the Azura Star

Post » Wed Dec 21, 2011 6:34 am

I don't actually own the game yet, but I've been doing alot of research so I don't screw anything up when I do get it. One thing I can't seem to find any in-depth information on is the Azura Star; If I enchant a weapon with it, I assume it will go back into my inventory when it runs out of charges? If I enchant a piece of Apparel with it, will I get the star back when I disenchant the piece? I ask because I know disenchanting an item destroys it, and I fear I may destroy the Star with it.

Thanks in advance guys! :)

The star is the only soulgem that doesnt get destroyed on use.
You can use it an infinite amount of times.
It is not put on the weapon or armour, only the charge is.
When you enchant something, the star will be empty again and can be re-used immediately.

I have never had a weapon run out of charges in Skyrim, but if past games are anything to go by, it will stay in your hand and just work as a normal weapon, until you recharge it.

Wow, that was fast. Thanks :) You can refill weapons before they run out? Interesting, didn't know that either!

It is like a normal soul gem with one difference - it will NOT be consumed by either enchanting or recharging (normal soul gems are). You will loose the soul hold within the star (it is used for enchanting/recharging) and you will need to capture another one but the star itself will remain untouched.

EDIT:
