Need some help please.

I am currently doing the Thieves Guild Quest. I have completed the prior quest Hard Answers and have gone to Frozen Hearth in Winterhold to see Enthir and Karliah. I speak with her and she gives me the Nighting Gale Blade. The problem is the next Quest the pursuit will not start and Kaliah will not talk to me. I have googled the question and what I have been able to do is start Hard answers over by using the command line....but I still hit a dead end. I have followed Karliah to see if she goes back to the thieves Guild and all she does is go to Snow Veil Sanctum. I had previuosly in the game Roofjumped in Riften and have already obtained Chillrend and Mercers Plans, which are part of the Pursuit Quest (maybe this broke the questline?). Can anyone help me to fix this?

FYI I have a new gaming Windows 7 PC, so that is not an issue.

Maybe, just maybe, if you put back the stolen quest items... I dunno, though. Might be worth a shot.
