Poor Uthgerd - I feel soooo bad

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 2:17 am

Yesterday I wanted to reach level 39, and not wanting to do more of the stupid radiant quests, I went out and explored hoping to find a lair or other that I could cut my teeth on. I stumbled across Boethiah's cult lair and the leader challenged me to lead someone to the alter and kill them with the special dagger. The first person in my mind was Uthgerd. So I went to the Bannered Mare, told her to follow, led her to the alter, and stood there. I just didn't know if I could do it, but my curiosity got the better of me - I wanted to see what would happen when Boethiah appeared or if she would at all. So I planted the dagger into Uthgerd. After all the drama - don't want to give spoilers - Uthgerd lay there stone dead. I thought maybe it would just be a test and she would be revived, but no, she was dead never to return. Then I felt really bad about it because I kind of liked the old lady. Is there any benefit to being connected with Boethiah, or should I go to a past save where Uthgerd still lives?

You sacrificed the wife of Beogar the Alduin-Slayer? One day you'll wake up with a battle-axe inside your head! (Or maybe you aren't waking up after that, but I think you got the point.)

Wow, what a disgusting thing to do! How HORRIBLE!

Instead I killed the nord bard guy in riverwood who volunteers to be your follower after you set him up with camille. Didn't like the guy AT ALL - dweebish little creamcake...............

Should you continue with Boethiah's quest, you will receive the Ebony Mail, a piece of heavy armor with an armor rating between ebony and dragonplate. It muffles you and emits a poison cloak similar to a cloak spell.

Yeah, I should have waited to pick someone I didn't like - but so far I happen to like most of the followers. I've not run into that bard guy, or at least, I never took a favor request from him. He sounds like the perfect candidate. LOL

I took the mercenary guy who lives in the Windhelm inn.

"here's 500 bucks follow me, now touch that stone for me please..."

*loot cash and armour*

The way i see it I did the guy a favour he always looks so depressed sitting in Candlehearth Hall!

That's nothing, I used Lydia.

All you can do now is pray for Stendarr's mercy.

Depressed? Stenvar is always merry in Candlehearth hall. Everytime I walk past him he always says "Hey friend, keeping your way out of trouble? I hope not."
I always use Faendal for this quest after I'm done with his training session.
