New Spawn Points

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 2:49 am

Would it be possible to unlock new starting/spawn points for people that have already been playing the game for a while. Nothing too drastinc just something as simple as choosing an Inn to wake up in with a few misc. items in a chest just so you dont start out naked with no weapon. My previous Playthroughs include me playing a Nord male, his wife, their daughter, and an enemie Orc of theirs. I plan on making some other characters that I want to add to this world to play as but starting out at the Helgan dragon attack, the dungeon crawl then the feeling of well the people of riverwood are depending on me to go to Whiterun and save them from the dragon. This is all good for starting out a character but by the time I get myself through all this i feel like i loose all immursion. besides there is so many radiant quest that taking some time to level up really isnt that hard.

Well the Helgen attack and escape can't really be avoided... but as soon as you get out, just run to the hills, heck the dude you're with even says "we should split up" and he's actually going to Riverwood, so just take his advice. :D
My current char has never set foot in Riverwood, she has no knowledge of the people there depending on her for anything (and they aren't because they've never even met her, get me?).

I understand the feeling you have but you can see how simply heading off by yourself as soon as you can provides automatic justification for not caring about Riverwood or Whiterun or Dragons (which you'll never ever see unless you decide to make it happen... they simply don't exist in my current game).

I tell myself to do this every time but for some reason I cant seem to do it. I think It seems to have something to do with feeling like if I want to go to one of the other settlements the easiest way to get there is to catch a ride at the Whiterun stables but still that brings up my point. Why should I have to go through the intro then make my way to Whiterun jsut to catch a ride to my starting point when nothing I do In the begining matters to my new character.

PS3 doesn't support modding, most likely never will. The only solutions for a console is...well, there isn't any, besides transferring a save from the PC which has been modified with console only. And yes, you can transfer saves between consoles (do dev console edits for my friend's Xbox 360 saves all the time). I have no experience with PS3 save transfers and have no means to test it, since I have no means to access a PS3. Besides, we're not allowed to discuss console modding anyways, so I'll leave it at that.

I really wish you could jut skip the start and begin just outside the helgen cave, I had a save file in oblivion right before exiting the sewers so it was readily available for starting new characters as you could edit your character before leaving. In skyrim I enjoyed the opening sequence the first time but now it is just a 30 minute boring repetitive chore we are forced to do on every new character. I wish it would let you edit your character as you exit the cave then I would make a save file there...

That is most likely not possibe on PS3, because in Dark Souls the specific problem of the Xbox online is that many have altered stats, thanks to that PC-transffer. On PS3, however, no-one has altered stats.
