Question regarding melee combat.

I have a few questions regarding the game's mechanics. especially the Melee ones.

If you are a lucky european btstard and already got the game (on 360) or seen enough videos and think you really know what you are talking about, please contribute some answers.

so here goes:

1) i know u can shield bash, but can u bash with a weapon as well? (hold left trigger than add right trigger)

2) can you do a weapon bash with a weapon even if you have a spell or another weapon in your left hand?

3) does bashing (with a weapon and a shield) cause enemies to DROP their defense (in case they are blocking) and stagger? Is bashing meant for defense breaking?

4) Does bashing with a weapon or a shield STOP an enemy's attack animation if he was in the middle of SLASHING at you?
(i mean, is bashing a good way of defending yourself if you use weapon+spell combo by bashing the enemy when u see him attacking?)

5) Do POWER attacks ALWAYS cause enemies to stagger?

6) is there an advantage to TIME YOUR BLOCKS just at the moment you are about to get hit?
there were MODs for oblivion that made it so if u time your blocks just right than u take even less damage than if u held block for a few seconds before u got hit.

I believe these answers can prove how deep or shallow the combat system really is.

Cheers.

1. You can bash with a bow and I think you can also bash with a 2 handed weapon, I'm not 100% sure about 2 handed and 1 handed though.

2. don't know

3. enemies will stagger a bit when bashed and they will drop their defenses.

4. I haven't seen this but I wasn't really paying attention to this either

5. Only smaller/weaker enemies, larger/stronger enemies do not ALWAYS stagger

6. I don't know, all that I've seen are people holding down the block button and not actually timing it. You're gonna have to find out for yourself

Sorry I couldn't answer all the questions, but I hope this helps a bit.

that's kinda helpful. thanks :)

i hope someone with the game can test and see.

im really curious about 2) and 4). if bashing is a valid way of stopping an incoming attack than that can change the way we tought about playing spell+weapon and dual wielding. bashing, though heavy stamina consumer, can be the way to block incoming attacks if its a staggering movements that can be done under these combinations.

i hope someone else can try and answer these Qs more specifically.
