Speech was a viable option in Fallout 3, I know I know this isn't Fallout. Upping your charisma in fallout and becoming some sort of charismatic businessman was a fun way to roleplay. But isn't everyone's speechcraft going to increase kind of the same? Does it increase every time I talk to someone or what, I have no idea. What if I want to play some sort of charismatic dragon slayer whom talks his way out of sticky situations.

im pretty sure there is a speechcaft skill.. and mercentile was merged with it..
not sure how it will level up though

Trading is certainly going to level it up given that trading perks are linked to speech

Speech is a skill with its own perk tree. It is not leveled just by talking to people, but no one is sure the actual way you train it.

I'm also fairly sure there is a speech skill of sorts.

Hope it's something with more then just buy/sell, kinda makes it a little pointless

Where if speech is high enough you can ''blag'' your way into areas, or other things. From what i saw, looks like you can blag too, but if you succeed it gives said speech a boost up....if you fail, dunno cos he passed. Anyways enough of that, its in there. Just see on friday i guess.

I'm pretty sure it will be like this :

When you trade, your skill levels up (maybe only when you sell stuff).
Also, when you use a speech option, like persuade or intimidate, if you're sucessfull using this option, your skill will increase.

0-10: RAWWRRRRRRR!
11-20: NORD SMASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
21-30: I'm going to CHOP YOU!
31-40: I am ANGRY so I am going to CHOP YOU!
41-50: You have dishonoured me! NOW WE FIGHT!
51-60: I am son of . NOW WE FIGHT!
61:70: There seems to way to resolve our difference of opinion. NOW WE MUST DO BATTLE!
71-80: I apologize for cutting you, BUT I MUST!
81:90: Two warriors meet in battle, the outcome will determine who is right. DEFEND YOURSELF

OT : Speech is actually going to be one of the two secondary skills, that I have planned for my character.
